Western Swing Jacket

[Solid Citizen]

I'm posting a few pics of this custom 100% leather
two-tone western swing jacket I acquired on Ebay
last Summer. It was made by "Jerry's Leather Goods"
in Englewood, Colorado. The company founded in 1946,
still exists today.

Thanks flat-top & MudInYerEye, its an original jacket! Bought this from Ebay seller, "The Leather Barn" they sell old used leather coats. My eyes widened
when I saw the listing, it sat for 7 days NO bids, then in last five min. of auction bidding started sniped this @ $55.00, evidently beat out a vintage dealer, who got upset sending me a nasty Ebay email accusing me of cheating, blah, blah, blah.

Early Fall last year saw a 1940's two tone all leather coat like this on Ebay, didn't have the western accents, but was very cool. Was going to bid , but it really heated up went for close to $300.00, too much for me!

Know a guy who collects H BAR C and Nudie suits! The 30's, 40's and 50's western wear is really kind of cool I think. The leather job you posted is really cool! Much like the Hollywood coats of the same era just made of leather.

This friend of mine is the leader of a band called "The Lucky Stars" and they play 100% authentic 40's western swing music. He also works at the Gene Autry Museum and has several Gene Autry articles of clothing in his personal collation! Good stuff man, it's fun!

Thanks for the kind words Wild Root, yes Nudie stuff is hard to come by & very $$$. Western swing gives you a chance to either swing dance ot Texas two-step. Believe Spade Cooley ruled the roost @ the Santa Monica Pier in the late 40's until Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys moved there from the Cairns Ballroom in Tulsa Oklahoma to challlenge Spade well before he murdered his Wife.
