Fresh picked Roma Grape tomatoes. we have hundreds of them right now.

  3. I picked a few wild blackberries today to go with some the neighbor brought over yesterday. My wife turned them into a couple of small pies. One for the neighbor and one for me. :D

From the SGF bakery this morning:

Trāubelestorte - Red Currant Meringue Torte
A firm pastry shell filled with soft lightly sweetened meringue, ground almond and fresh red currants. Recipe out of “Classic German Baking” by Luisa Weiss (calling @Trenchfriend)

I live a long way from any place that serves fresh cannoli and as such have learned to fix 'em myself. This here is from a recent batch served with a bit of Moka Pot espresso and amaretto.

And here's the pile just before serving:

This is timely, as my middle daughter just picked up a 1952 "Italian Desserts" cook book at the free room of the dump and the first thing my wife said when she saw it was "ooh, we can make cannoli!"

Have you ever tried "Cheese-ham toast" (Carlsbad sandwich)?

    If not:
Toast + cooked ham + ketchup + cheese

Grilling and after that, spread it with Worcester sauce.

Dunno about the ketchup, but everything else about that sounds amazing.
