What color hat cord & acorns for engineers?

For a Campaign Hat with Montana Peak, say after Spanish-American War through the beginning of World War II, what hat cord & acorns are correct for engineer enlisted men, for engineer warrant officers, for engineer officers? Is this cord the correct color for Combat Engineers also? How far into the past is the hat cord color correct?

What is/are the color(s)? I found a web page that identified many specialties' cord colors, neither engineer nor Combat Engineer was among them.

I was going to say that it would be red because their guidon is red and that usually signifies their colors but I found this ... sorry I'm not much help, I bleed Infantry blue.

Indycop is right. During the American Civil War - Indian War period, Engineers used the same yellow hat cord as the Cavalry, after 1902 they had switched to a two color, Scarlet & White cord.
