Great looking lids today (and the past few days) everyone!

I started the day in new VS

and my wife and I went to the "Scenic Mountain" in Big Spring (about an hour away) to get out of town for a while

.

I switched into my Akubra CD for that trip since it was pretty warm and I don't mind getting it sweatty.

Manofkent, great look . I like how you coordinated your tie to the ribbon on that straw. Very classic look.

Thanks Manfred, DJH, ManofKent, A'n A, and Javier for your recent comments. Apologies if I left anyone out, thanks to you, too.

Javier--yes, the Adam has the "look". It's practically new, with a nice supple sweat band and no soiling anywhere to be seen. I've enjoyed seeing your posts showing the variety of your collection lately.

HamilcarBarca3--stay cool down there. My brother told me it was 99 degrees there last Sunday. I generally don't visit my family until November.

Orangegrad, DJH, Mike, jlee, Rogera--all nice choices today.

It wasn't quite as warm as Houston here today, only about 85, but warm enough for a straw. Dobbs Panama.

+1!

Manfred, the new western Borso is killer!!

Jared, that's a great portrait!

G. Durand, what a beautiful color on that Panama. Is it dyed or a naturally aged patina?

Great casual weekend look, Sir Richard.

Frank you almost inspired me to try my boater outdoors today. Almost, but not quite. When I stick it on my head, I always feel I should be a fishmonger or one of those Armish guys who work in Reading Terminal Market in Philly.

Hey DJH ,I got a real chuckle out of that one .

A guy once said to me "hey you look like your right out of the 1920's ,you know Great Gatsby and all that " !
I told him "thanks I take that as a complement " . :D

Enjoy your day DJH and All the Best ,Fashion Frank

Manfred--thank you, sir.

bowlerman--that is the natural patina on the Dobbs. The thing must be at least fifty years old. The straw is still fairly pliable but the sweatband is fragile, so I handle it with care.

ManofKent--thank you for your comment. I must say the Woodrow is a fine looking lid, and it works well with your overall wardrobe today.

Frank--the boater is perfect with the tie, the braces and Old Glory in the background. Your commenter was right, you could have stepped right out of the 1920s (or earlier).

job--nice looking Dobbs. Nice tie/hat ribbon combo.

rlk--That is one fine Montecristi.
