Dogman, that's some hat, why you could upstage Santa in that hat. I love it.

How do you all like His new hat?
I'm more used to making women's hats, so any comments are very helpful.

So that's the lucky fellow who makes your heart flutter? I'm loving that hat, you want to trade? You make me something similar and my wife will make him one of her, almost famous, shirts. This photo was taken last New Year's Eve. We were at a burlesque inspired show, where my wife had made the performer's costumes as well as vintage styling their hair. The white hatband was a temporary buckram affair that she made to give the black hat a comic Peter Sellers look. The shirt she made completely, even screen printing the burlesque images onto a plain white background.

Tommy, I've been after a Strat in that colour for ages, fabulous. But that look over the top of your specs, reminded me of a teacher who would do that to let you know he didn't believe a word you were saying. Freaked me out.

Frunobulax I have a theory about that rabbit, I've heard it said that when a guy starts to loose his hair, he can overcome the problem by putting a couple of rabbits on his head.............................................from a distance, they look like hares.

That looks STRIKING! Please some more pics and a detailed description. :)

Thank you Bob!
It's a sturdy dark green hare velours with a dark brown cotton/rayon grosgrain ribbon with a contrasting bow. I'll see if i can catch the guy for a better picture tonight.
I originally ordered a leather braided ribbon for it, but he wanted grosgrain in the end.
How's my Gertie doing??

I like it a lot. Taller crown, wide brim. Very nice.

Thank you Terry! I appreciate it a lot!

Esther--I have a soft spot for wide brimmed hats. It looks good. You should make more hats for men.

That means a lot coming from you Thank you! I'm working on it ;)

Haha yes, that's my man. I'm a lucky woman.
Thank you, i'm glad you like it.
I'll ask him if he wants too, I don't mind trading. Or she could make something for me?
That is one special shirt right there! Oh my how long did she work on that?!?
I used to make clothes too( i have a degree in tailoring) but I started focussing on hats full time.
So i have a lot of respect for how well it's made.

It's a little chilly here in the Carolinas today, so thought I'd break out the Golden Coach by Dobbs for work.

Trust me I understand
There are many here that have been a direct detriment to my bank account... So much so that I should send them a bill

It really is a wonderful addiction

LOL. All these guys are responsible for my affliction. Resistance is futile. That's a nice Dobbs, by the way.

Sorry, dude. Can't help. Spent all my $$ on hats.

Like Moon and rami, in the office on a Saturday. Today with the Mallory Coast-to-Coast I picked up recently from a fellow Lounger.

Thanks, Fruno. I found this one at a swap meet buried under a bunch of junk hats. My wife actually saw the pile of hats from outside the booth, and told me, "I think I see some hats in there." Otherwise I would've walked right by it. Best $10 I've ever spent on a noggin cover, that's for sure! Lol!

Here's a shot of the inside of the hat:

Good to see everyone having a good time today. Did a little shopping this morning in my most prized vintage hat, my Stetson Royal Deluxe. Sort of Stratish, or a small OR. It's a favorite.

Remembering when I fished this out of the Bay with all its stains and crushed condition, wondering if it would ever be presentable.

Dave, looks great! Nice save. I can see why it would be your favourite.

Bob, tell her SQUAWK back!

Fruno, now that just sound weird to me. We eat it as an afternoon sweet snack here.
I'm sure it's delicious though, thank you for the invitation. :)

No way is that the same hat!! It's crazy how well you revived that one! It looks brand new!! Very nice save, indeed!!

Thank you. It really speaks to the quality of the vintage felt. While protecting the sweat band, I essentially soaked and scrubbed it with mild dish soap, got out all the stains, shaped it, and let it dry. It was like new.
