nappa is umbrella term of just soft finished leather right? I hear the term is used to make cap and waistbag, etc. so I guess you can wear it in the rain, it won't ruin the jacket, whether you stay dry or not that's a different story probably you will get wet here and there if the jacket is soft and thin.

Yep, Germany differs between Nappa leather (smooth), Nubuk leather (partially ground) and Velours leather (Suede).

I didn't took the risk, today and changed to other jacket.

This just arrived today (2-days shipping from U.K. to the U.S.), the Alpha Industries Injector MODIII.
Has a real mouton fur collar (non-detachable), upgraded nylon shell, normal fit (not slim fit or oversized!) and afew other nicely updated details.
Not quite as nice as my Buzz Rickson MA-1, but light years ahead of the lower price dime-a-dozen Alphas that you see at any Army-Navy store.
I wore it outside today in the rainy, 35-40 degree weather and this jacket handled the elements with no problem!

The jacket of my dreams when I was a teen...
Now that I joined Italian Navy about twenty years ago, wearing this jacket wouldn't have sense. But top *** jacket is always great and yours fits very nicely. Congrat .

I would not go through this exercise again. Luckily oh man how lucky I found a competent tailor few blocks from my house. I went in for like 4 fittings. No way this could have been done via email. Well at least now I know what to look for when I buy things.

edit: btw, I screwed up sewing down the biswing panels with a bad tailor the first time. That's why you see the extra stitch line. There's a way to fix it, but didn't want to start over again. I might go back to the better tailor to fix. He mostly focused on the waist, arm pit, and chest area and nailed that stuff. Live and learn.

yes, it was very impulsive for me. I was not happy with all the baggyness behind the arms. So first I sewed up half way the biswing and it helped alot, it left a more natural looking biswing, but the body was still boxy. At that point, I should have focused on the mid section and would have been good. But I had the other tailor sew up the rest thinking that was the problem. Instead of continuing the line, he started over and created a new line which left some stitch holes. Not happy about that. I can have the other tailor pinch the material or move the line over, but it's another $60. So just going to leave as is for now and see how much it bothers me.
Something I would never do again. I'm ok with the tight biswing around the arms, but will just avoid the deeper ones that go down most of the back. It's not for me. I don't ride motorcycles either, so don't need the extra flex. I tried to turn one style into another style because I am stubborn LOL. It turned out pretty good, but definitely was not worth the effort and costs. And every time you open up that jacket and stitch it closed, it's taking away from it. Next time for sure, buy exactly what I want.

I feel the same way. Couple of right pieces is how it used to be. I have 8 jackets and it is too many. I need to settle on 3 favorites and get rid of the closet-dwellers. Funny how I came around about a cross-zip. I used to think it is not for me, it is for the young, bikers, rockers, rebels, etc. Now I am sure it will be an essential piece for me. That, one racer, and one straight zip with a collar. That is it.

Agreed. I quite literally end up with anxiety if I buy too many jackets. I can't even enjoy wearing just the one I like the most because simply knowing there are jackets I don't hanging in a wardrobe, need irks me to no end. I think I'm pretty happy with my current selection, though I'm still having second thoughts about having two 613's - which is only to say how freaking essential a cross zip is. I could do without any style except for that one.

Got caught in a monsoon while riding. Effin weather app is stupid. I’m about to call their customer service number to rant lol.

LW tank kept my upper body dry. My jeans are soaked through. They weigh like 20 lbs. I could see maybe 20 feet ahead, what a ride!!
