My further research also showed, Nappa leather jackets can suffer bad water stains from the rain. So I will not try this experiment.

Wore my sherpa-lined hooded Carhartt today while doing yard work and walking the dog. Same weather in Chicago: mid-30s. I forget how good it is at keeping me warm with just a t-shirt underneath.
