Today is a cheapo High Street version of the classic Detroit jacket. I've always wanted the Carhartt original, but the fit doesn't work for me. This one does, although I've sized down to get it. And a literal fraction of the price.
Decent weight of canvas and seems robust enough for bashing about, although it forgoes the full-fat blanket lining for quilted poly instead.
I had two Carhartts. Sold one and gave one to my counsin because they were too big. They sell a slim version at their Carhartt WIP store but at a premium. Same or worse materials but at a higher price because it is their fashion line. Trophy Clothing makes a nice repro but can't bring myself to paying a premium when the original is still available at workwear price. Perhaps I can find a Gap or H&M version.Today is a cheapo High Street version of the classic Detroit jacket. I've always wanted the Carhartt original, but the fit doesn't work for me. The Aero Thunderbay again. I only have three jackets worthy of this forum. I might get a fourth in the next few months. So here I am sitting on this lonesome wooden bridge off of Galveston beach.. it’s not icy cold it’s only 54° however it’s drizzling and there’s howling wind. For most people it’s definitely not pleasant conditions but I love it. I don’t feel like lingering around the city where everybody’s getting drunk. This is very nice over here. Nobody’s out here. I don’t need a fire, Im as cozy as can be.
I didn’t blink. I literally just closed my eyes, because the flash was so intensely bright. Just taking some shelter until the water stops falling.
50s style Thedi mc jacket and some hometown backdrops.
The leather on that bad boy is WOW. (Can’t think of another word to use)
Great look, how are you liking the boots?50s style Thedi mc jacket and some hometown backdrops.
Cool vest! Freewheelers?
I love them. They're very nicely made and I love the sleek look of these. The left boot is impossible to get on though. That's a 15 minute fight even while wearing a plastic bag and no sock. I'm sure that will get better with wear. I hope so lol.Great look, how are you liking the boots?
Amsterdam?
This is awesome! Any tips on where to find this? I always wanted to get a Carhartt Detroit, but stayed away for same reasons as you after trying at local tractor and supply store.Today is a cheapo High Street version of the classic Detroit jacket. Thank you. I’ll keep an eye on them or request potential restock info. Cheers! It's by The Stronghold, sold through a collaboration with a UK store called Primark. This jacket is from last season, and isn't even on their website any longer.
