Simmons Bilt Nebraska in black goat today. A wet 3 days from a sub cyclonic dump. PLENTY of rain in the backdrop.
At max 20C today this jacket was perfect , but high humidity precluded any "exertion" in any case.
Face masks compulsory when out of home for another week (at least)

Sorry, no fit pics, but this peacoat impressed me so much i had to take a few pics of it...
5oz Forest Green moose, the colour is as close to real life as i could get it, a weird blue green.
I was worried i would hate it as green is really not my colour, but it has enough blue in it that it looks great with jeans.
Pattern is amazing, it looks super trim and neat whilst still allowing great layering and movement.
This coat really surpassed my expectations in every possible way.

Funny coincidence, it is almost the same colour as my Lada Niva, first time i am matching as much!
I didn't chose the colour of the car when i bought it, when i ordered it i was just told it would be white, green or brown...

Such a cool car. I didn't know they were still producing lada's. They always make me think of the DDR. We also saw a lot of lada's when we visited Cuba last year. Do you use it as a daily driver?

Yep, daily driver. Got it new in 2017, but it feels like an 80s car. I get people telling me "Looks great for such an old car" all the time.
I hate cars that do things on their own (auto lights, auto everything) and hate cars that beep at you all the time.
This one has no beeps, nothing automatic, it's like an 80s car, i love it.
I don't do much long distance so it works out, i also use it to work in the woods/fields around where i live so it is very convenient for that. If i had to do long distance on the motorway daily it would be a nightmare, it's not super comfortable and it's super noisy as there is no sound insulation (although i did dynamat the whole car which helped).

Yes, still being produced. They changed the name from “Niva” to “Taiga” and now to a prosaic “4x4”. By now, it’s also being offered in a version with 5 doors. If you’re after a real workhorse of an AWD vehicle, it’s much much more affordable than a Landy let alone a Wrangler.

I get you. I used to drive a Vespa from 1967. I loved how everything worked mechanical. You really had to know and 'feel' the vespa to be able to drive it properly. I had so much fun driving that thing. It was my daily driver for almost 10 years. Unfortunately in 2014 the city of Amsterdam banned two stroke engine mopeds because of environmental issues.
I would love to own a car like that. Not as a daily driver but as a fun car for the weekends. Pre covid I used to drive 55000 km / year. When you spend so much time in your car, you're happy it does a lot of things on it's own

This is SO well made, such a beautiful color and no doubt a quality piece that's going to last you a lifetime, man!

But seriously, it's so damn well made, stitching is supreme and so is that color. Liner is something else, too. Can't tell if it's black or blue.

You would think having to deal with three repairs in 18 months would push them to use better quality zippers...

This should be the gear reduction, i.e. additional gears to help keep the vehicle in forward motion in crawl speed over difficult terrain. Really a no-nonsense car...

Top one is center diff lock, bottom one is hi-low gear.
The car is always in 4x4, there is no 2x4 option.

I love a boxy car! I’ve been driving this for the last 14 years. It has over 250,000mi, but still going- mechanical cars are the best!

The dash is almost the same as my first car- 1979 VW Beetle. I drove that one for 12.

They didn’t really blame me, or even hint that it was my fault. Word has it that Ken maintains that if the male pin is inserted properly, the Hookless is fool-proof, but nobody at Aero’s ever said that to me. No reason to fight over that but - well, it is not...

In fairness, all other Aero jackets of mine work perfectly fine in that department, although I sometime wish for the option of a larger zipper (No. 8).
Plus, I need to repeat that service was perfect, and I haven’t been charged a cent for the repair (which is actually a time-consuming thus costly exercise as I had to learn from yesterday’s chat to the guy who is replacing the zipper for me now).
