@unhatted , good eye but these aren't much good, either. They're my granddad's old goat leather gloves, I just cut the fingers off because they were coming apart. I am currently looking for a better pair, too so you're probably already ahead of me in research.

Damn, I was hoping you’d have found an avant-garde designer who makes a stripped-back yet elevated version out of Italian horsethigh! Will let you know if I find anything.

There is a pair by Viridi-Anne that I like seeing a lot but I'm not (yet) sure how much I'd enjoy wearing them. Horsehide of course and they do come in black.
