I am going out with an old friend from high school. Everyone else is getting tacos.

Steak, mushrooms, green salad, sourdough toast. 93° today. Too hot to cook inside.

One big slice of greybread with sugar beet-syrup and two little slices with nut-nougatcream.

Last night we cooked spicy Italian sausages on the grill, along with some caprese crostini, and had some pasta with fresh made red sauce (tomatoes and basil from the morning trip to the farmer's market) and some sautéed summer squash and onions. Blackberry mint lemonade with vodka and icy cold pbrs washed all that down.

Never had it, but I am sure that I would thoroughly enjoy it. Life is really good in your house at dinner time.
