I'll ask this here- since it's Golden Era but I don't know what the answer is... I've got one of those lapses of memory... What's that Golden Era logo..? circular, with a lightning bolt, maybe... (could be totally wrong)and a logo-type, 3 letters, maybe, movie studio, or radio...(could be totally wrong again) I keep thinking of RKO but I can't find what I'm looking for. What is the company? What is the logo? It's an iconic logo from the '30s/'40s... Maybe it was a sound company. It may not even have a lightning bolt. Itchy brain. B T
Nope- I keep thinking RKO but it's not. Google's great if you know what you're looking for... I've been Googling around for some time. Problem is, I've got that forgetting thing... "...uuum, it begins with an "M"..." You know what I mean- it probably doesn't begin with an "M" at all... B T
I think the Zenith logo and radio dial would qualify as well. In the early days of electricity, the lightning bolt was a pretty ubiquitous symbol.
That's more like it, Lizzie- thanks. It does what I asked for but I'm still not sure... Something circular, like that- any other 3 letter trademarks in that vein..? Another Radio, sound or communication company..? Of course it doesn't begin with an "M". B T
It's definitely an American logo but since I can't remember the actual company, or, of course, the logo, the "clues" from my memory; "circular", "lightning bolt" and "3 letters" could be total herrings of the red variety. It is definitely classic and iconic... at least, in my frail mind. But thanks for your optimismerism, Miss. B T
Will you settle for two letters? Or one letter? Or a whole lot of letters? Or three letters and lightning bolts but no circle (although it did appear occasionally in a circular format)
Ok, if it's not a circle, and it's not necessarily 3 letters, maybe it's not even very vintage. Maybe it's just not as cool as you remembered. Maybe, it's ...but probably not.
I've already seen RCA and GE. I know that the one I'm looking for is something with Radio, sound or communication, maybe film... I've seen the Logo as a back patch on a vintage work jacket RCA and GE are definitely in the right ballpark. I remembered it yesterday- reminded myself to find some good images of it today and today, it's gone. Like totally. There is the chance I could be totally dreaming. B T
This makes me think the company logo is industrial rather than entertainment... I am looking forward to researching this tonight.
