No. Hm. Must be Miss Miami Beach, then. I know it was something like that. She never talked about it, and I only found out about it after she passed away. :(

Oh really...I don't know how to tell [huh] of course he loved his Super Charged Auburn Speedster Convertible, there are pictures of that in this thread !

All i know is that he wasn't too much into cars, he liked his sailing better, here he is in his yacht the Sirocco, off Catalina Island 1941 ...that's what he really enjoyed! :)

Yes - I love those pictures! I think that one and a few other great ones were taken by Peter Stackpole of Life Magazine? Theres even an underwater one of him spearing a fish.

That last one of the car - the head was cut from a fairly common late 30s publicity photo of him. I'm such a Flynn geek I recognised it :(

Yes but that's the problem - statutory rape in California at the time required the girl to be under the age of 21 (as far as i recall) rather than 16 or even 18.

Cowboy star Tom Mix 1937 Cord 812 Convertible

This is the car in which a 1930's western movie star, Tom Mix, was killed. In the fall of 1940, he was driving very fast along the gravel road between Tucson and Phoenix when he came upon the site of a road crew. The Cord crashed through the barriers, swerved violently, plowed into the ditch, and rolled, killing 60-year old Mix. Today a monument marks the spot.

The actual car in which Tom Mix met his maker.

The wrecked car was purchased in October 3, 1942 by R. E. Nelson for $100. It was restored and at the time this photo was taken, still had Tom Mix's gun holster.

Wait a second, I can read your post as soon as I get my Tom Mix pocket knife open!
