I think it's 3 oz, not 2.5. 3 oz is the thinnest leather Stuart uses. Or at least around 3 oz as he stated that, the leather my Peacoat is made of and it's still stiff. I like it.

Thx Roma and TMitchell59
I'm a great fan of LW jackets and consider Terry to be an expert since he has a lot of good LW jackets. His portfolio helped choose my jacket and it was Suburban. Although I very much liked the Test but I don't like the sleeve straps and didn't want to ask Stu to modify the jacket. So I decided to order a more versatile Suburban, which is, btw, extremely popular in Japan. But, still, you don't find a lot of LW jackets pics, so thanks to Terry again for his collection.

Sorry I used the 2.5 ounces. Several folks commented. Looking forward to seeing your new Suburbans. I need to get a zipper in mine. Most leather repair or not used to, set-up, or comfortable working this tough hide.. Thanks for the comments. terry

Yes, Terry, you mentioned the zipper before that's why I asked Stu to install NOS Crown #10. Not the cheapest solution but let the best be for the best. Your right, #6 is not strong enough for such durable leather. Moreover I ordered it 4 oz.

killer stuff here TM! Love that mouton collar too. Are you keeping them all?

I had to sell the Jean Jacket just too big for me. It was labeled as a 46 and wore like one. This is one where the leather could have been much lighter and made for a better jacket. Even if that was a 44 I think it would have been just too much bulk for that style. The Cafe is a 48, again too big for me, so will be moved. The other three I'll keep, get more of my money out of them. Hard for me to let go of jackets that fit.

I saw maybe that jacket on EBay some time ago. If the measurements were kinder to me,I would have snapped it up in a New York second. Something about that jean jacket style in a good leather that really appeals to me. I love it. If LW jackets weren't made so trim, I would definitely get one. As it is with the surcharge for anything over a 48 it puts it out of reach. A couple of times I've enquired about his MC jackets/ measurements. The 48 seems to be cut like a 46. This is probably the correct measurements as opposed to some makers where I can alsmost get into a 44 and easily a 46. I think a 48 would just be that little bit too small to be comfortable handing over big bucks. It's a pretty competitive market place, and I just can't cope with the surcharge when Aero/Langlitz/Johnsons etc will make any size without any extra fees. I do really admire some of the LW designs, and would love to take on the Heavy horse challenge.

Thanks for the comments. The Duke I bough in the classfieds here year half ago maybe. I bought from the original owner. I don't recall why he was selling. It is Italian horsehide they call Victory. I have not seen another leather like it. I would guess it is very expensive to produce. It is heavy and very pliable which don't seem to go together. I don't think it is available. BK always had trouble getting it in stock. There are plenty of pictures of Victory HH jackets on their facebook page. Nothing like the liberty HH.

Yes it was on ebay a couple of times. It was being sold by the guy who bought it from me. I have no idea why he was selling it. I have had his jackets in 44, 46, 48. To me they fit as marked. I wanted that jean jacket to fit, but it was just too big because it is a 46. If you were a 46, 48 this jacket would fit, it would still be too heavy for the style, at least to me. The collar was just cool.

Looks great Terry, even taking into account it was big. Benny, your absolutely right about LW, they are pretty expensive if you have to get any customazation. I was charged extra just for 2" longer sleeves. But this is LW policy and I may not agree with it and buy Aero, Alexanderleathers, a lot of. But, what appeals to me is their leather. It's just indestructable and merely don't age. Also you can choose very durable but light 3 oz, heavier 3,5 oz and the "metal" leather-4 oz. Also there've been some comparisons with other manufactorers: the quality of LW is impeccable. Having owned so far only one LW jacket I can confirm that.

Yeah. I'm very tempted. I pref brown leathers, and some of his look a bit bland. I know it's fantastic stuff....would love to try one on sometime.

I will say that some of the LW leathers may be bland in comparison to others I own that really are eye-popping, color wise.
It can be good though. I don't always want a leather that stands out so much - they can be more difficult to match shoes/boots, belts etc with. Variety and all...sometimes I just feel the need to be bland ;)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel the same about some of the brown offerings from Langlitz. I would love that type 3 in russet with a fur collar. The colours might seem a bit bland, but I don't think there's any doubt that LW leather is pretty amazing stuff. I've never even seen one in real life...would love the opportunity to try a few on and get a better idea of what I'm dealing with.

I don't tend to wear black jackets( don't even own one), if I did get one, and it's inevitable that I will, it would be a good opportunity to go full 4oz LW HH. That would be a challenge worth taking on.
