Read this thread last night and lots of amazing posts, so I'll bite and submit my humble offerings:
• I'm awaiting for what should be my dream jacket to arrive: Aero premier HWM black FQHH (will post pics once it shows)
The vehicle list is long and varied, so I'll just add current drool-worthy rides:
• I have Vespas, so this is a no-brainer for someone who had 2 VW buses in the family growing up (utilitarianism at its best):
• Then for rainy days when the scooters aren't the best choice, I'd take one of these, no prob:
• And then when I needed to hit the beach with a little more gear than will fit on the Vespa (Oh wait! This is still a Vespa!

Even the pricey ones. I literally can't tell most cars apart. That wouldn't be a problem if they were nice but they all look like they're made from the same mold that is so utterly boring. Like someone took a soap car and melted it. Worst part is, even the expensive ones that were known for their unique, instantly recognizable trademark design now look like all those other shiny bloated slugs. Every great car maker I can think of toned down what was setting them apart...
I know it's all about the safety and efficiency but if I'm spending this much money on something, I want it to look good. Otherwise I would buy a Smart.

Amen, brother! It's nuts that with all of our tech advancements, the subtleties of great design have been cast aside. And this is in an age of excellent design! It's so weird, the fear of market rejection driving very conservative styling, IDK. With the exception, of course, of the hideous cars that look like a running show mated with a Tonka truck...

There was a time when you could have styling without the loss of aerodynamics: Even you, who admit to not recognising many car models, won't have any difficulty at all in recognising this car.

That Jaguar XKE Coupe and handymike's Mercedes above rock. A long time ago I had an opportunity to but a used 1960 red Jaguar XK150 for $4500 like this one:
Instead I bought a used 1960 red Austin-Healey 3000 for $1800 that looked like this one:
The two happiest days of my life: The day I bought the Austin-Healey and the day I sold it. I suspect either of those two cars would have required a full time mechanic on retainer.

Each to their own. Once, in a moment of boredom, I counted 128 things that today's cars have that mine doesn't. When I showed the list to the garage proprietor who takes car of my car, he said: "Well there's 128 things that can't go wrong with it."rather drive a (trouble free, economic fuel, power window, auto adjustment mirror) present day car, and buy a good diecast scale model of the antique ones for me.
Out of modern cars, Mazda's still look good though just a bread and butter car. Nothing compared to the classics of course but I notice them all the time on the road and barely notice most other modern makes. If civilisation does not get destroyed by a rogue meteorite or World War III it will die from banality.
