    Origins of The Military Hairbrush??

Does anyone know the origins of the oval, stiff bristled "Military Hair Brush"? Was this a standard issue part of the DOP kit at some point? Thanks!

A new member's new hat, or, always check out vintage stores!

My friend, it is my opinion that the semi-colon is the most underused punctuation in the English language; you don't overuse it at all, but simply use it correctly! Now I hope I used it correctly!!!:) Thank you for single-handedly restoring my faith in the younger generation!

A new member's new hat, or, always check out vintage stores!

That is truly a great looking hat and a remarkable find. :offtopic: I hope you will take this in the spirit that it is intended, but I have to also say that it is very refreshing to read something so well written by someone in your age bracket. I think the ability to use proper grammar...

    Brylcreem

An effective, modern alternative (gasp!) is Jack Black's Pomade. Okay it's not The Real Deal, but it holds well, washes out easily and has no real scent to speak of so it doesn't interfere with the wonderful smell of my Pinaud aftershave powder.....which my wife loves.:D

Old Radio Anyone? Help or Advice

This is the best source I have found. Michael is a detail fanatic. I'm working with him now to have a console restored. He is trying to figure out the best way to wire in an Aux In jack so I can play an iPod though it. I have one iPod that is fully loaded with nothing but old-time radio...

WWII Khaki Trousers - Originals and Reproductions

Unfortunately that's a free market system at work.......the market dictates what survives and what doesn't. Minimal demand equals a discontinued product. And yes.....their prices are steep, but this is primarily because they are made in America and Americans won't work for $5.00/day. Oddly...

WWII Khaki Trousers - Originals and Reproductions

I tell you what.....I'd like to have a pair of real deal vintage khaki's, but I do *love* my Bill's. High waist.......wide legs.....superb comfort......great durability by today's standards and Made in USA! Finding the right fit in any garment can be tough, but I have always had a hard time...

Spade's Desk Lighter in The Maltese Falcon: Ronson Touch Tip

Maltese Falcon lighter?????? [Edit] I found info already here on the forum and I apologize for not searching before posting..... In the movie, Bogart lights his handrolled's a couple of times with a big, table top lighter that has, what appears to be, a permanent match that when pulled or...

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

Moss Green Trackside I know there are always questions about felt colors etc and I received a couple of PM's about Art's Moss Green looking darker and more brown on his felt strip sample card. If your monitor is calibrated (and if it isn't it should be) these shots will give you an accurate...
