Folks Ive been scouring the forums and shops for a soft felt fedora in mid grey, slate perhaps. I think I'm searching for the right thing; soft felt would be the thinner, smoother, not quite so furry type of felt? Anyway, any ideas what sort to go for?
Anyway, the eye catching title is now past and we come to the question.
I'm a 77.5 head nearing 78, but have a fedora of 77.5 which sits a tad snug and I want to make it a tad less snug so it plops on and off the head a bit easier. I have a hat stretcher that does a grand job if left for a...
Just won this for a negligible ammount from Ebay (£18) my measurements exactly, which is a good thing. Anyway, your opinions...
Its an ACE Baumler, Charcoal.
I fancy wearing a few waistcoats (well one at a time) and there are plenty to choose from but how do you match one to a suit if you want to wear another colour (ie buy a 2pc suit then get a seperate waistcoat from elsewhere).
Ive been trawling the web. Im looking for a soft felt fedora with not too wide a brim, fully lined in either mid or light grey and not expensive. Purely to go with suits especially in the spring and summer, therefore lighter grey prefered. Any suggestions?
Your opinion gents. I'm considering getting this coat, a cashmere wool mix, to wear over suits or even with jeans and a shirt. Will it suit a grey fedora?
Ladies and Gents, during your years of hat research you might have come across some web photos and pics of guys in trilbys and fedoras. Well I need some for a website Im making promoting the wearing of smart hats in the UK. Preferably pics that are flattering to the wearer, look modern and...
First big question is should a guy wear a smart hat to a wedding where the groom and male entourage do not? Does it show bad form for a guy to turn up and possibly by the addition of that hat draw attention from the groom?
I'm talking a summer(well for the UK) wedding, so likely not to be...
Sorting out a warped brim. The brim on my grey fedora goes up slightly on one side. It was 1/4 inch too large anyway, so with patience, a very accurate measure and some chalk Ive worked the brim to the size Im comfortable with, however the warp is still evident where the frontal dip meets the...
We all take notice of who's in a hat dont we, but at the moment there dont seem to be many (or any) positive role models in the media who wear decent hats. It seems at the moment the good guys wear wool caps and the bad guys wear fedoras.
Non positive: Pete Doherty, Jack Abramof, Michael...
I couldnt help it, I had to do it, sort of like finding a chocolate bar in the fridge that no-one knows about and thinking, "if I eat it nobody will know." Of course someone will know when the box turns up at the front door and the postman says, "hello mrs wifey, your husbands done it again."...
Im getting this one in asap as summer is only a few paypackets away and saving for a hat deserves some planning and scheming to sneak it past the wifes hawk eyes.
Anyway, Im going away in July to one of the Greek Islands with the wife and two kids. I wont be taking a damned awful baseball cap...
Not sure what you folks think but Im definately seeing fedoras on sale everywhere. UK. Marks and Spencers, Debenhams, Burtons, Top Man and a whole host of womens stores with fedoras! Not seen many out on the street yet though. What do you reckon?
Right new years eve here folks, just got a cool pink shirt for next to nowt (nothing to those of you without a Yorkshire cultural upbringing) and going to wear it with my grey fedora but what colour tie and what colour trousers folks. Make it quick, times running out.
Im considering getting a federation as I need an everyday hat, but I'm a bit concerned about ordering it without knowing how it will look. The brim isnt a problem as Im confident to cut, but the crown worries me most. If it is too high, can I lower it in any way? I checked the crown height to be...
