I obtained a couple more jackets from an eBay auction. A DSCP Cockpit A2, and a DSCP Excelled G1.
Tell me, please, how can I remove those velcro tags on the A2? Do they simply peel off? Should I heat it with a hair dryer first?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Sent my jacket to Dena and GreatLeather. She replaced the zipper, knit cuffs and wasteband, fixed the liner, and cleaned the paint off it. Here is the final result:
I ordered this:

It's not exactly what I want. But it's close enough. And cheap.
I'm going to Pamplona to run with the bulls in July. I don't think I'll wear the hat while running. But I will wear it walking around.

Looking for a fedora
Here are the features I want:
- white
- crushable
- minimum 2.5" brim
- made in USA*
This is the closest I've found. It has everything I want except it's not crushable...
That's the only pic I have.
I even posted it on physicsforums, which has, as you would imagine, a lot of scientists. And the object in the photo appears to be lab equipment.
Nobody there knew what it was.

I'd like to get a list of people and businesses who repair/restore leather jackets. Zipper replacements, liner repair/replacement, patching, stitching, etc.
I've see Insurrection mentioned in this forum. But they are currently not doing outside repairs. And they referred me to...
Johnson Leathers. Hmm. I wonder how many other jacket makers I'll discover.
I was a kid in the '70s. I enjoyed "Happy Days" a lot. Never gave much thought about a leather jacket back then - Fonz's or any others.
Now when I watch the show, I really like the first couple of seasons. It...
$70 for 3. Kind of pricey.
Where are they made?
It says they're made from American maple. But that doesn't mean they're made IN the USA.
I've been looking for some cedar hangars. I contacted one company and asked where they were made. They said that the wood was American, but they are...
Almost. It's not made in the USA.
A2 and G1 jackets are a dime a dozen. Cockpit, Gibson & Barnes, Eastman, Aero, etc.... They all have them. And on eBay, you'll have no trouble finding one.
However, look around at these manufacturers for the "Fonz" style. Aero is the only one that has...
Interesting that my favorite style is difficult to come by. Here's what I'm talking about;
straight zipper up the middle,
slash pockets, no front cargo pockets,
knit cuffs and waistband,
a real collar
In other words, a "Fonz" jacket.
Apparently, this style must not be very popular. Because...

I was issued a peacoat in 1983. I have no idea where it is now. But I've been thinking about getting another one.
What's your opinion on the Schott peacoat?
This is Irina from Volzhkiy. She's 42 now. 40 in the this pic. I dated her for two years.
This is me with Tanya. She's 38 and from Minsk. We're at the top of the Eiffel Tower in this pic. I'm wearing a Cockpit A2.
