Yee Haw Hat... Chinese for Resistol Saddler... okay, not really

Hello, Wil. I've been following your renovations. I very rarely post but I've been a daily lurker for about 4-5 years now and have bought and sold at least 100 hats in that time and renovated quite a few of my own. I think you're really getting good at it, except for one thing. I think you...

    Christy's Homburg in Light Grey

Great hat, LordBest. I just got a new Christy's Homburg in Peatwood. It had some of the same issues as yours, but I was able to correct most of it by hand. On mine, it looks like it could have happened because of stacking them at the factory or store. besdor, I've seen you post that...

    NEWS BOY CAPS

Actually, Brett of B!wear will do different cuts, you just have to ask him. I have three of his caps, including one short cut cap, which is about half as full as the standard. I like them all very much and he's a great guy to deal with.

    Akubras at an attractive price.

After calling I was told my hat wasn't shipped until Sep. 6, and according to them, that was because I ordered it on Sep. 5, which is great service, except it was ordered on Aug. 29!!!!! Needless to say, I won't get it until Monday at the earliest. :rage: :rage:

I still haven't got the Banjo yet. I really hope it shows up today. It's been a week and a day since I paid, but I'm sure the holiday weekend has slowed things down.... Got my fingers crossed.

    Hats at Burlington Coat Factory

I've picked up two so far from BCF. A black fur felt Huckel and an unmarked navy blue one with grosgrain sweatband, also fur felt. Both are tapered and have low crowns, but look very nice. Both have wide brims. The Huckel was $20 and the unmarked one (my favorite) was only $7.90.....it was...

    Akubras at an attractive price.

Akubra does have a bit of a secretive side, don't they? They have a lot of unlisted models, the questions about whether they use more farmed rabbit or wild hare and whether that hare is from Australia or imported from Europe. Why they're so scarce in other parts of the world (i.e. why they...

    Akubras at an attractive price.

Lookin' good, Not-Bogart. I think mine should arrive today. I'm surprised it's not the Heritage Quality, though. I thought there was only one hat with the "Banjo" designation.

Steven, do they have much taper? And how high is the crown? I ordered the Banjo, myself, but I'm considering the Adventurer. You just can't go wrong at those prices.

    Help me pick a bash

Nice hat! Like Dean's first choice, I would go for something a little unique. Although my choice would be a "Cross" bash if you cut the brim. I saw it in a post detailing it and the "Arrow" bash, I think it was from a German book a member had found in a Library. You could probably find the...

    The Green Stain

Hi all. I'm a long time lurker, this is my first time posting. I really like this place and it's been great reading through everything. I'm sure everybody who owns vintage hats has seen the start of oxidation on the little wire in the back of the hat, turning it green just above the...
