Here is the second of two hats I am re-homing. This is a used gray Akubra Federation IV Deluxe, size 60 (7 1/2). It was seldom worn but has some moth damage at the top of the crown in the rear. I am asking $50.00 or your best offer, plus shipping.
This is the first of two hats for which I am finding a new home. There are 3 or 4 slight moth bites on the front of the brim and at the top of the crown in the rear. There is some discoloration of the liner. I have tried photographing the moth bites as best I can. This is a used carbon grey...
Today I had my best Fedora sighting ever! I was to be interviewed by a print journalist about the opening of a new business. When I answered the door, there he stood in his Fedora with a large "PRESS" pass stuck in the side of his hat band. Very vintage! :eusa_clap
I find restaurants to be the worst. They generally make no provisions whatsoever for patrons' hats or coats. Airplanes are second worst, although since I am taller than most airplane seat backs, I simply wear the hat. I'd name cars as a close third.
I was walking toward a store in a strip mall today when I noticed a young man in his early 20's get an eye lock on me from about 50 yards. He starts walking directly at me. At 20 feet away he says, "Excuse me sir..." My thoughts immediately go to "Rats, I'm about to get panhandled." As he...

My oldest Tilley is about 15 years old. It still looks new, and has only been through the washing machine twice in 13 years. Tilley, however, recommends occasional washings to keep accumulated oils from deteriorating the hat. It is one tough hat, I am telling you.
I cannot help you with your question. However, I own two T-3s of different colors: olive for the woodlots and white for boating. I love my Tilley's. I'm not sure you can judge a Tilley's brim from marketing photos. In my experience they all seem pretty soft.
I believe your amount of latitude is directly proportional to how secure you are in the job and to what extent your appearance impacts promotion opportunity.
At times in my life I have been quite independent, and at other times I have been something of a sheep. On a college campus in the...
I do not care for the hats much, but I am optimistic about the trend. I believe it may return to popularity the wearing of brimmed hats. I think that is a good thing.
Plus, I prefer my gangbanger to be stylishly dressed, rather than having a flat-brimmed ball cap with the price tag still...
I have been very annoyed with buttons sewn on new coats. It seems as if I am re-sewing buttons during the first season of use after only a few wearings. I feel as if manufacturers tack them on as an ornament and expect customers to adequately secure them later.
Am I the only one?
