Yep, You're right on the brim size. I like your suggestion on the color also. I would add a matching navy edge on the brim. -

Most recommend a lighter color and I can see why but, I really love this http://www.vintagesilhouettes.com/Felt%20colors/Midnite%20Felt%20Collage.htm, especially the one with the lighter blue ribbon with a red accent stripe and matching brim edge. -
