I have a size 7 1/4 Akubra Federation fedora for sale. It is slightly used but in great shape. It is an affordable version of the Indiana Jones fedora that will last a very long time. I will give it a week here and then to auction.
Price is negotiable. Pics upon request.

I just received a "heads up" from Cheryl at www.noggintops.com as to an impending increase April 1, 2008 of all Akubra hats due to worldwide demand of fur felt.
They have a sale right now and if you are on the fence as to whether to get one or not, better make it fast.

I don't know how many people watch the online fedora auctions but lately there has been a real bidding war on nice Whippets and other vintage Stetsons. Some have fetched $150.00+ for these "old timers!"
I guess a hat is like everything else, it is worth whatever one will pay for it. Me, I...
I was in Cody, Wyoming last week on the way to Yellowstone park when I dropped in a typical touristy dry goods store. What I saw on the third floor was, however, anything but typical. It was a beaver pelt cover made to fit a queen sized bed.
It had about 20 matching (in color and size)...
I have 2 Akubras that I seldom use. They retail at David Morgan for $130.00 each and slightly less from Hats Direct in Australia. I am going to put them on the internet at auction but first give the members here a chance to buy each for $65.00.
They are both like new, worn seldom and...
I just watched an auction for a 7X MIB Open Road in an open crown. It looked new, new enough to fetch $640.00!!!
I have a few Open Road hats but $640.00!!! I don't think so.

I just finished my first read of the premier edition of Classic Style and am quite impressed. I believe that when word gets around the magazine will attract a lot of interest. There is nothing like it in print that I have seen and Esquire is a different animal altogether.
Men's fashion...
A few weeks ago somebody put a mint Stratoliner on auction for an opening bid of $450.00 with a "buy now" of $500.00. It included a Stratoliner club card and an original Stratoliner box. It received no bids.
It was relisted at a lower opening bid and finally it sold for $150.00. My point...
I just ordered a custom "Manhattan" fedora from Art Fawcett but cannot find the thread that described it and had pics. Anyone out there know where it is?

Has anyone figured out what kind of lid Josh Bernstein wears on "Digging for the Truth" on Monday nights on the History channel? It looks like an Akubra to me with the small leather hatband but I can't figure out which one.

I know it's been discussed before but I could never find a website for the Stetson outlet store in St. Joseph, MO.
I did find the street address: Stetson Hat Factory Outlet

I am in Montecatino near Florence today and just priced some Borsalinos. The so called travel hat is priced at 145 euros and regular fedoras are 195 euros. The euro is 120 percent in dollars so the price of a factory, glued in liner(cheap quality), mediocre felt and craftmanship(?) is about...
There is a Stratoliner for sale on the net that has a ridiculous opening bid. How does the seller expect to sell this hat at$99.95?

Will a "long oval" hat fit a regular head of the same size. In other words, will a long oval 7 1/4(Stetson Stratoliner) conform to a regular 7 1/4 shaped head? Will a reblock be required?? It needs cleaning anyway...

Here are some pictures of the Bogie fedora made by Fedora(aka Steve Delk) after I had Marlene at Optimo bind the raw edge brim
I think it gives the hat more authenticity and looks better.

I'm considering getting a Montecristi hat but am totally baffled as to who is a reliable, honest supplier. I have read many negative comments about "fake" panamas and "the real thing" on various forums and sites including E*ay.
Who can I trust for a resonably priced, good (not...
I have contacted Optimo Hats and find that they are located in Arizona. However, various threads point to their being located in Chicago.
Are these the same company??
