Clubmaster's
I think your sunglasses were a variation of Ray-Ban Clubmasters. Tom Hanks popularized them in Nothing in Common (1986) and they continued to be popular into the early 1990s. The Clubmaster, and especially the Ray-Ban Wayfarers have become popular again with the Generation...
Braces versus belts
I don't think there was a sudden change like a meteor killing the dinosaurs, but starting in the 1940s, more and more men chose belts over braces/suspenders for holding up their dress trousers. By the early 1960s the vast majority of younger men wore belts with their dress...
Gilda
Classic, classic, classic! Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford, 1946. This film contains the musical number "Put the Blame on Mame" which made Hayworth a major star. She was astonishingly beautiful and was perfectly cast in this film noir. Glenn Ford was wonderful as usual as the happy-go-lucky...
Radio Days complimentary films
If you liked Radio Days, you should check out Brighton Beach Memoirs, the first of Neil Simon's autobiographical plays that were adapted to film. Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound are the other two. Also, My Favorite Year is in a similar vein.
I don't normally expect to see something that would be of interest to Fedora Lounge readers on a technology blog like Endgaget but check out this vintage style radio that you can download digital music to:

Hello New Fodora Loungers (?)
I have been visiting the Fedora Lounge for about a month and joined about three weeks ago. What a great resource! I am interested in classic, ivy league and especially vintage clothing. I also love early to mid-20th century industrial design, automobiles...
A wool check overcoat I found at a thrift store. I am guessing it is from the late 1950s or early 1960s, but I would welcome any input into this garment's age.
I am seriously getting addicted to hunting for vintage clothing!
Pushover (1954)
Fred MacMurray and Kim Novak. Pretty mediocre even by 1950s standards, but the clothes! The hats! The cars! 1950 to 1958 is definitely my favorite vintage era.
The Promise of Air Travel
Those images are artifacts are incredible. I'm going to point to the thread from my blog. What a wonderful education in what air travel used to be!:eusa_clap
One Night in the Golden Age
I would love to don the white tie and tails and go to some swanky night spot like the Stork Club or Cotton Club. Hopefully one of my hero/legends like Ella Fitzgerald would be playing. Wow, this fantasy sounds like an out-take from "The Purple Rose of Cairo"!
