Edit: Sorry, the title should read "grey" not "gray."
I was in Chicago with my family last month and stopped by Graham's shop. I settled in on the Canadian Grey felt color. I typically do better with a brim no longer than 2 1/2 and a not-so-high crown. This fedora has a bit of a snap brim...
3-Button Brooks Bros. "Brent" Seersucker Suit. Brown Stripes. I only wore it a couple of times and it has been dry cleaned.

A friend of mine is interested in selling a black fedora that belonged to his father. The hat was purchased in London, probably back in the 1930s, possibly earlier. The felt is unbelievably soft and smooth. It's also a super lightweight hat and with the exception of the ribbon coming undone...
I just checked the news and was upset to learn that my local neighborhood library is on fire. The building is collapsing. This branch was opened in 1935 is the home of lots of maps, plats, books and historic newspapers covering the Georgetown area...
Roy L. Pearson Jr.'s Lawsuit
From the dcist...
"Pearson alleges Custom Cleaners in Northeast lost his trousers back in 2005. He filed a lawsuit seeking damages and claiming the city's consumer protection laws were violated. The cleaners said they gave the him the proper pants, but offered...
1st Beaver Spotted in New York City in 200 Years
Friday, February 23, 2007
Associated Press
Beavers grace New York City's official seal. But the industrious rodents have not been seen in the flesh here for as many as 200 years — until this week.
Biologists videotaped a beaver swimming...
It arrived yesterday. I took some photos this afternoon after wearing it around since early this morning. It's 11oz "marsh brown" tweed.
I love it!

WM Fox & Co (a DC menswear store) sells Bill's Khakis and it is right up the street from my office. I ordered two pair of Bill's worsted-wool gabardine (M1) trousers and they arrived this evening. Since the tailor was in I went to get the pants hemmed.
One pair is British Khaki and the other...
I went to the Sky Valet Edward Green trunk show today. I live near Sky Valet so it was a quick and short walk over to Georgetown. I met Hilary Freeman and saw some of the shoes. The shoes are amazing. It's too bad (but not too bad for my wallet) that the shoes are not a good match for me...
There is a story behind this new Fedora and I think it should be told. Art made this hat out of the kindness of his own heart.
Close to a year ago I thought about purchasing some custom made caps. I was growing out of the style of caps that I'd been wearing and I was looking for something...
This came today. The felt was much softer than the Akuba Fed I recieved but it's still a bit stiff. I used the foam adjusters for a tighter fit.
I like this hat.
Color: Acorn
Brim: 2.5 (maybe 2 3/8)
Crown: About 4 3/4
I was at an Art Deco society meeting tonight and someone showed videos of Ina Ray Hutton and her Melodeans. It was great! Apparently, the video came out sometime in the early 1980's.
Anyone know about this tape or if it was part of a series? I didn't have a chance to ask the guy who...
Did Brooks sell fedoras with a Cavanagh Edge?
I've only seen pictures of the Cavanagh edge, sad to say. I am down in Georgetown now and came across one. It's 7 1/8, short brim and it is grey with a black sweat. The edge looks like one to me based on the photos I've seen.
They are asking $45...
Akubra will "custom make" Stylemasters in a couple of colors including Bluegrass Green, Navy Blue and another color, I forget which.
Does anyone have the Bluegrass Green? If so, can you post a picture or two? I just ordered one in Acorn. I think this might be the hat for me given the crown...
It's a 7 3/4 - I think with some felt padding behind the sweatband this should be fine. The total was $91.00 including shipping.
Brim: 2.75 inches
Crown: 4.75 inches
This hat is one its way to Art already. I'm probably going to ask him to select a nice grosgrain ribbon to replace the...
I am thinking about selling my Highwayman and I will entertain offers. I will most likely use the funds towards another Aero Jacket - a Barnstormer. This jacket is in great shape. It is broken in just a little bit so it's not quite as stiff as a new Aero FQHH jacket. The zipper was replaced...
Thought some of you might be interested in this. They're showing it here in DC now (again?).
From the website:

I seem to have had some bad luck with hat repair lately.
I bought an old beat-up Knox hat during the Fedora Lounge weekend in NYC. A quick steaming, brushing and shaping brought that hat back to life. The sweat was dried out and I knew it wouldn't last very long. After an especially hot day...
I debated about a Panama for my next hat. I decided on a midnight blue fedora instead. I liked the Stetson Saxon and that's where I got the idea for this lid. We made quite a few changes. Art extended the brim a bit and raised the crown some. The block is different too. This is an excellent...
