Here's the aforementioned Ens. Wilson in front of his Avenger.
Looks like he's sporting an M-422, without the "A" spec pencil pocket.
Someone can probably tell you who made it (note how the waist seams stop at the band).

The original photo came from navypilotoverseas@worldpress and in the photo just before it, there is a Navy Ensign (aviator) in a G-1 posing by the wing of his torpedo plane. The caption was just assigned to the wrong photo on their website, that's all.

Thank you for the clarification. That's one less thing I have to worry about today!

I just checked my LHB, and sure enough, the seam is inset.

How did you discover that ... the Aero LHB ( and all of my non military Aero's ) is/are three or 4 part sleeve design and construction not the two part design as used in the A2 ... i.e. the sleeve has an "armpit" panel, a top panel ( and cuff) and an underarm panel. There is therefore no way to decide if it's an inset sleeve. I'm not saying it's not .... just that it's more difficult to tell.

You'd need to ask Aero ......
