Me again.

My next question is about bashing an open crown felt fedora, like the one illustrate in the post about the Squatter. Will the hat hold it's shape just from hand manipulation, or would I have to steam it?

No need for steam

My Squatter has held it's shape without any steam at all.

Steve Delk posted either yesterday or with in the past few days (again) that Steam is bad. Doing so will cause the fedora to taper faster.

I kind of like the Squatter, and I'm interested in an open crown, but the brim is a little big for me. Could anybody recommend an open-crown of similar quality with something under a 3" brim?
