Happy New Year of the Rooster

Gents, just wanted to wish you all a very happy Chinese New Year. This is the biggest holiday of the year in many parts of Asia and the world just slows down into visits to family, friends, co-workers, all night card games, and so much food and alcohol.

This year is the year of the Rooster. A good year for prosperity, health and wealth--the three things the Chinese value more than anything else.

And of course, I wear that nice black fedora with a vintage 30's long Chinese "gown" (sounds a bit feminine, but it's the killer) and scarf of the times. Chinese of that era in the big cities loved a nice fedora.

All the best this year!

Shing Nien Kwai Luh!

(Not sure how well that translated, but that's Happy New Year! in Chinese...)
I just went to a New Year's party here in Taipei, and wore a silk mandarin collar jacket with trenchcoat over (it was drizzling). Topped off with a fedora and 30's slicked back hair, I was feeling quite dapper.

Ghost, very nice! I like the 30's Chinese gear more than any other era.

You had to have a scarf and fedora on that number, right?
