We have I believe the worlds largest Borsalino dealer here on board that can answer what questions you have specifically. Check the banner ad for Bencraft Hats, Besdor sceen name.
I'm not a big fan of modern Borsalinos and especially not the long plush that this one is but that's just personal opinion. I prefer the pre 1984 Borso's as I believe the quality took a big dive down after being sold from a family hatting operation to a corporate one. Such is life!!

I appreciate the input from such a knowledgeable hatter, but the melusine hat I referred to does not appear to be a Borsalino.

Sorry David. Being surrounded by Borso's and not being able to read Italian I made an incorrect assumption. In that case, I know absolutely nothing about it other than it's a long plush.

Anyone have any real experience with this style?

From looking at the listing , it appears to be a single hat for sale. At 98 Euros , it may be an older style Borsalino hat . The hat is a long hair silk finish similar to Biltmores current version also called the "Beaver" . It could be made by Cervo as well.

Their website states that they make hats and that this style is available in sizes 56-61.

Yes, Melegari makes the hats, this is long hair rabbit fur, style from the "30's and for
connoisseurs...." Available in gray and black on demand. (Not sure if that means other
colors on demand, or black on demand).
