Actually, it is 15, or was 15. 8 of them are missing. I have about 40 coats overall.

I had a closet breakdown some time back, and the missing coats may be hidden under the coats that collapsed. Haven't had the energy to dig through everything yet.
Hi Peacoat - long time, no see. I took a couple of years off from Fedora. I'm up to 10 coats - 2 Melton and 8 Kersey. I think that's enough unless I come across my two dream coats. That being a 1949 in size 46Long, and a 1958 in size 46Long. However, I don't think they even exist. I recently brought all 10 to the cleaners. Wow, what a project. Those coats are heavy. It was worth it though. They all came back looking great!

What's the difference between the 1949 if you don't mind me asking?

Good to see you. Welcome back. I thought we had lost you. I think I sent you a PM months back, but not sure.

Lol! That's why I'm looking at. I've acquired four coats over the last month or so, but then I came across this one after reading you guys rave about them.
I bought a 1949 for my wife, but she wouldn't wear it. I then sold it on eBay. !949 is truly an exceptional year - beautiful Kersey. .

Best lighting I could find. Just a pic of them side by side. 1966 coat on the right, 1945 on the left. Slight handfeel difference between the two but hardly noticable. I'm listing the 1966 for sale on ebay in a few days so I want to compare as much as possible.

So how do you identify a 1949 Peacoat? What the label would say?

This is a 1945 tag. I believe 1949 can be identified by a service contact being added to this tag. Peacoats dating guide is very in depth on how to identify these coats.

Is the best way to clean these peacoats just to take them to a dry cleaner? Anything you can do about a lumpy lapel? Lay a book on it?
