Security Pin In Hat: Is This A Problem?

Hello Fedora Loungers,

I have an opportunity to purchase a hat. However, there is an issue that raises concern for me. The hat has one of those security pins (presumably with ink) in the hat. Ostensibly, the pin penetrates through the felt. The security pin can be removed by the seller but I'm worried the damage the pin has done will be a problem. Anyone have any similar experiences and what was the outcome?

If it is a fur felt - it is a problem. Buy elsewhere.

Agree,or at least ask them to pull the pin before you buy.

Can you tell us a little more information?
Is this a felt hat?
Is it vintage you are getting a good deal on?
Is it brand new modern production hat?
