Skin choices in leather jackets

If I wasn't fully convinced that I need a kangaroo jacket... now I am!
I know!! I've been fascinated with the hide ever since seeing this one. I think it's tough to source tho.
Try Australia, they cull them as a pest I believe.
That just blows my mind. I did see a YouTube video where one was going to hope into a guys house but hit a glass door and gave up. Drastically different then seeing bunnies and squirrels in your yard.

There was a big 'un about a year back, up in the Brisbane suburbs scared the daylights out of some people. It was a big red buck that stood up to nearly six feet five inches in height when it reared up and they can get rather dangerous, especially when it's the 'right season'. The big fella was hanging around people's driveways and back doors for a bit, don;t know what became of him though.
Oddly enough, I see enough 'roo steaks in the butcher shops but not many jackets round here made of their leather. I was down at the Rocks in Sydney a couple of months back (Colonial heritage area) and there were a few tourist shops where you could buy a 'roo scrotum to take home and use as a coin pouch or the like. Strange but true.

A cheaper option would be embossed cowhide..... probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. 
A guy who works for me had a crocodile vest made in Thailand for about $400. He wears it on his bike which also has a custom made crocodile skin seat. The vest looks more wearable than a jacket but is all for show. Of course he rides a tricked up Harley with all the adornments.
Whole kangaroo pelts are sold in most big markets over here. They are popular with tourists. Some are quite huge. A grown man could sleep on one. They would make excellent panels for grizzly jackets as the fur is quite short, dense, very soft and tactile.

You do have many different finishes, matte finishes look much more natural

THe vest is matt black with side lacing. The breast panels are more knobbly and the whole vest looks quite attractive if on the wild side. From a safety POV quite impracticle though.
