Cedric looks pretty sharp in a hat also.
Is this the theory that one can pull off wearing virtually any outfit, garment or accessory if they have the attitude that they "own" the look?
Man, I don't know about attitude being the key to wearing anything.
John Candy can NOT pull off the Dr Jones of the Raiders look, no matter how much attitude he puts into it.
Cedric the Entertainer can NOT pull off a 3 piece and Fedora like Bogart could, with a car load of attitude. ..
Well, those were quick, right off the bat, but there's ALOT more. The statement that anyone can wear anything, if they just had the right attitude....I think not.
I seems a little bit like the chicken and the egg. Does a hat look good on you because attitude wise you own it, or do you own it and are comfortable wearing it because it looks good on you to begin with?
You're also a bit hasty, when it comes to reading, what was actually written. You skip the first part: "A lot of it has to do with your attitude when wearing the hat". I agree, that Rogera was a little "double sided" in his comment, but I didn't think it was possible to misunderstand him. Well, I guess it was after all ... [huh]
I am not talking about actors trying to put on other actor's personas. I am talking about being realistic with what you are wearing and not being self-conscious about the fact you are wearing a hat or in other words your "attitude" when wearing your hat.

Check out "42" and revisit "the Sting" and "The Natural". Fedoras for both men. I think Redford looks just fine in a fedora. i think you're right about Pitt though.Besides Raiders( which is almost a cowboy hat), Harrison Ford wears no fedoras. why? I'd say they don't compliment him. Look at Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, et al. They all look good in cowboy hats. almost everyone looks good in a cowboy hat, but look at their other hats. After his westerns, Clint didn't wear a hat. I'm watching Inglorious Bastards right now and brad Pitt is sporting a newsboy. why not a Fedora? I'd say because they couldn't find one that looked good on him. Robert Redford sports the Ivy caps, besides a cowboy hat in his younger days. In the Sting, he wore a newsboy. why not a fedora? I'd say because he can't find one that compliments him.
well, I guess I just don't understand this "attitude' thing.
Well, I don't think any amount of 'attitude' will have a mitigating effect on a poorly chosen (shape and/or color) hat.if I walk out the door in a tutu acting like I own the look, it will still look pretty ridiculous. Attitude can help, but it ain't everything.
