Vintage German Shawl Collar Shearling Leather jacket... Age?

Found this guy for next to nothing in a german market a while back.
Its shearing lined with corduroy sleeves, but no label or zips.

It might be around a size 38-40, but with a very short body length.

Its a really nice jacket I thought you guys would appreciate.

Any idea on the age of this one? It seems to have been around for a long time.

Looks a lot like the single breasted barnstormers of the 30s, but cut in half(!)

Note the inserted piece on the front (above the waistband).
A lot of leather stuff was shortened in the 80's for fashion purposes.

However as it is single breasted, and apparently always was so, it would have looked odd with a greather length.
The proportions are fine as they are.

I'm not so sure about the German provenance. If I am not mistaken the sleeves (with angled "half cuffs") are more typical for American jackets.

Anyway a very nice and useable jacket with a 30's vibe.

Ive seen many long barnstormers thats single breasted actually. Looks quite nice IMO. If you pretend the jacket ends at the belt it matches pretty well actually!

I will check the seams, as you might just be correct about the shortening(!)
