Hi Randall... wasn't unusual at all in the day. Hope your travels are going well.

Jeff, this one is completely the real me. I believe I had just trimmed it for my high school graduation picture.

. . . though we really looked nothing alike beyond the Jewfro.

There's a new-to-me term!

All I meant to convey was my utter envy of such an occupied scalp. Even in my youth I never boasted such a head of hair. (My surname is Ballard, a derivation of "bald," so I was doomed from the get-go.)

That's a great picture, Alan.

Thanks guys.

Randall, I think the term is modern (my kids use it). Should I give it a go today, the look would definitely be much more Larry Fine than Angela Davis.

Randall, you'd have been my HERO if you had done that. :pound:

I've grown up with the term Jewfro--it was where I went when I saw the pic, Alan. I'd peg it maybe to the late 80s or 90s. I always wanted one, but I could never get close. :(

My last day at work. Heading to a new position on the 15th. Figured I'd get one last shot on the best wall of the office. It uses florescent lighting, which works really well with all of my hat pics. Thought I'd take this one hatless today...

Thanks, hatto! I'm 35 now, and despite the pic, it's not as full as it looks. I'm having a very good hair day. It's been thinning slowly since I was in my 20's. My hair line has been receding, and I have a bald spot peeking through in the back. I embraced hats to get ready for the next phase in my life, not that I wanted to hide any thinning or balding, but to feel comfortable covering my head with something stylish and tasteful.

It will probably be a little while longer as it continues to recede, so it's been a non-issue for me. I was moderately vain in high school, so I'm accepting the irony. But my wife seems to think that the hats have replaced the vanity with all of my self portraits on the FL!! :)
