By all means wear it! If you're like me you've got more common everyday hats and a few like your 50 that are more "fair weather" hats.

If there is no Guild Edge, then what does the round debossment say on the sweatband where the Guild Edge debossment is normally located?

Strange. I guess at some point either someone modified the brim or it was a factory error. What do you guys think?

I grabbed a couple of nice vintage Dobbs hats at a local flea market this weekend. A "15" and a homburg. Each was basically new, and in their original old boxes. I need a silver belly or two, and some brown tone hats, but I just couldn't pass on these black ones!

I posted both these in the new hats thread some time ago, but I don't believe either one ever made it here, so here are my two Dobbs.

1930s Dobbs "Leisure Light" in black with "Improved Cavanagh Edge".


Early 1950s Dobbs Fifteen in grey.

Unfortunately, the sweatband on this one has a habit of dropping stitches.

Good day! Could I get some assistance with a newly acquired Dobbs homburg. Based on period advertising, this appears to be circa 1936, but I'm not the expert.

Beardog, CONALRAD, Cheviot You guys have rounded up some fantastic examples of Dobbs at it's finest. So many of these seem to be so well cared for.

I've got a Dobbs Twenty (I'm wearing it today in the "what hat are you wearing" thread) and I hope someday I can round up a dozen Dobbs Fifteen's as they look just as good or better.
