I liked "Band of Brother's" better but the battle scenes of "The Pacific" are truly gut wrenching.

Worf

Agreed. I watched the first episode of them on Peleliu. From reading Eugene Sledge's memoir, it sounds like this battle was one of the worst of the Pacific.

Yeah and getting better every week. Boy Henry sure could put a guy through the ringer with his moods, not to mention what he could do to his.... ahem female acquaintances...

Worf

Exactly! And, if I remember my history correctly, his mood swings only got worse with age. I am hooked!

Chasing Classic Cars. Wayne did the London to Brighton run in a 1903 Ford. He thought it would be a peace of cake. Now that I have been involved in motorcycles from that time period, I can tell you, the difference between vehicles made in the Ought's and the Teens, is like comparing a 60s VW Bug to a modern Ferrari! The technology changed so much in that time period.

Happy Days....the Fonzy jumps the shark episode, I had never scene it! If the shark was that dangerous, how come there were around 3-4 scuba divers in the underwater scenes with it.

"Marvel's Agents of Shield" - I've not seen the new Avengers flick so the tie-ins left me somewhat puzzled but I'm sure I'll get it sorted out soon. Series is really picking up Steam.

My "GoT" theory, that Jon Snow's Robert Barratheon's basterd's not Ned Starks, just got more plausible with the Red Woman's attempted seduction of Jon at Castle Black. She needed Kingly baby batter to produce another "smoke baby" (probably to pay Roose Bolton a visit in his sleep) but Jon wasn't havin' none of that. She stormed off but not before saying:

"You know nothing Jon Snow..."

Nothing of this true heritage she means. Also Lord "Pinky" Balish gives us the rest of his backstory later on. After Reygar Targaryeon kidnapped and raped Ned's sister, Robert Barratheon's intended... I believe old Robbie boy did the same to Reygar's wife. Jon Snow was the off-spring. Reygar's wife, a Martell, begged Ned or Ned through Robert not to have their offspring live an unwanted life ergo old trusty Ned took the kid in. As I said I've not read ANY of the books but this is just my theory.

I just think it's kind of interesting that after I mentioned the Lyanna/Rhaegar theory here last week, this latest episode had not one, but two scenes with people (Sanza & Littlefinger, Dani & Barriston) talking about these backstory characters. Writer/showrunners Benioff and Weiss wouldn't be taking valuable time mentioning them now if it wasn't going to be important down the road!

And Worf: see Age of Ultron! No, it's not quite a four-star film like the first Avengers, but despite some pacing problems and questionable plot developments, it's loaded with Marvel/Whedon goodness! As to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I still feel it's mostly pretty meh. I enjoyed Agent Carter so much more!

Hindenburg: The Untold. Pretty good, they did explode the old myth, that America refused to sell helium to Germany! Turns out, Hugo Eckener had an agreement. After he returned to Germany, he realized, it would cost to much. They would have to build ships to haul it, storage facilities, and redesign the Hindenburg to use it, since it takes more helium to lift the same weight! There was another Zeppelin on the drawing boards that would be bigger.

Wow, that is a big deal as everything I've ever read on the Hindenburg has averred that myth. That should cause some history books to be re-written.

NOT A SPOILER BUT MAYBE A SPOILER ALERT>>>>>>>>>>>

We don't know the truth in the books yet either! Great, plausible theories though!

Sinking The Lusitania: An American Tragedy. Even I was offended by that title! I know the American passengers died in a higher percentage, but still. They also perpetuated the myth that we entered the war soon after the sinking. It was just one month short of two years later that we declared war on Germany!
