These hats are not "production" hats per se. Specifically, they are not produced in a factory. They are designer, ready to wear fedoras off the shelf or out of the display case. They are all designed and hand made by Mike Miller himself. Most if not all standard sizes will be avaliable and all come open crowned but can be creased by Mike if you choose. Brim dimensions can also be cut back as desired. The felt/hat body he currently uses (on these) is Tonak rabbit. A FEPSA order is pending.

Yes, I was confused on that. We were talking about both felt suppliers at the same time. He does say "production" in a general way. He wanted to have hats on the rack that a walk in customer (and online) can move into directly. The two he had hanging were open crown, waiting for a head to put in them.

Had a great visit with Mike today. One thing that is really enjoyable is just shooting the breeze about hats for an hour or so. He had a couple of Homburgs in his display case that I just had to try on. Mike and I are the same size, so usually what he has on display fits me perfectly. Which is a problem of sorts. Good thing I have funds tied up waiting for the powder blue duplex that is coming soon. The navy hommie with a copper ribbon caught my eye as I walked through the door!

Oh, I forgot, got in the queue for another hat while I was there too. This time, a Whippet clone, color to be determined but Steel or Charcoal with lighter contrasting binding/ribbon are high on my list.

I will dust it for prints! You may not be the source of the delay. He ordered me a Camel rabbit felt and they sent him Beaver. Not sure I will like the Camel colour but won't know til I get it so decided to hedge my risk and just buy the rabbit.

This thread needs a bump. Picked up my Huckel Chamois today after a spruce up my Mike. I should be posting my latest creation from him in a week or so. Forgot I left it with him back before Halloween. He also added a new wind trolley, the button on the original had lost it's cover. It is like a new hat. Maybe I should post it in the new hat thread...
