How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Brilliant fit man! Now the anticipation for mine has reached apex levels!! Man that collar sincerely changes the whole look of the jacket. I really prefer it to the broader standard HWM collar. Well done!!!

Ton. At the end of the day why the 50’s as opposed to 30’s? Just wondering for future “natural cxl” consideration.

I'll tell you, having owned both, I just liked the fit of the 50's HB better. Bit roomier through the chest and shoulders. Here was my black 50's HB:

My 30's HB in midnight blue:

The problem I had with both jackets was the collar and the dropped front (on the 30's) I so prefer the August shaped collar and blunt cut hem (50's). I also felt a bit pear shaped in both so on this order I dropped a size down in the waist to create a more v shaped profile without having to cinch the HB all the way in (I really hope that works)! I should know by sometime next week. The suspense is killing me. Seeing your jacket tho, and that collar has given me much to look forward to.
I find the basic half belt to be the easiest style to wear. It doesn't really scream at you but the subtle beauty of the pattern creates an overall "perfect for any occasion" jacket. That's what I want most of all!

Of the two...I wish I had the 50's back. It was lined in alpaca tho and it itched and irritated me so much I couldn't take it. I mainly wear only t-shirts under my jackets so I went with corduroy as the liner on this on, just like the BL.

Does BK have a bad name on here? I recently started collecting vintage and higher end leather thanks to stumbling across a Terry Mitchel video a few months ago. Lol!
No comment on BK, I did see the jacket you missed. No, I did not buy it. It was a steal, just not my size.

I guess you already know I'm sick, but welcome.

Just received this late 30s basket case. Not seen a Californian quite like this one, too bad it is toast. Nice display piece and a lot of good Hardware on it still. Thought about a restoration but it looks like too much. Interesting jacket though. This is about all I can afford now!

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback.
The info you provided answers questions about the half belt I was wondering about.

Wow!!! I could see Dave S or Alan rebuilding that from the ground up. Man that's cool!

I will show it to Dave. He could certainly replace the sleeves and the back yoke, but the rot is on the middle back piece. That rot was not as apparent as the other when I bought it.

This is a model worth recreating!!

I had that thought when I bought it. The zip sleeves are unusual on a Californian unless it is a MC jacket.

Dave S. has some very nice goatskin. I'll send him some pics. Haven't talked to him, been hiding from the heat.
