The finished produce doesn't photograph worth a damn but I have just begun to learn to hand tint black and white photos with oil paints. It is great fun, kind of like paint by numbers but without the numbers. It has great scope as you can print on different papers, replicate water colour paintings and different effects.

Thanks, Dm101. But I think these kinds of pics are even better in b/w. Here's a shot I did around five years ago, also at Dennings Point, but of a different abandoned building... photographed with good old Tri-X in a 1971 Nikon F2:

There's no question that today's phone cameras are great, but I still find it's worth the effort to do it old-school sometimes. Those mechanical cameras, old lenses, and classic film emulsions produce uniquely different images.

I have to get a REAL camera some day....
