It may have been unsold due to the quality issues you observed. It looks unused. I have a steerhide California Sportswear jacket that is also like new. I will have to look more closely.
What also gave me second thoughts was how he advertised it: RRL Aero Eastman. Trying hard to draw some attention, which would be unnecessary of it be the real deal. Anyway if you think its a californian, who am I to say is not :)

He usually isn't selling fakes and is very honest and communicative. He's one of few sellers that correctly lists vinyl jackets as such, instead of trying to pass them for leather which is what everyone else is doing. He's currently selling one Harley Davidson fake leather jacket and isn't lying about it.

Belstaff is possibly the most counterfeit plagued jacket maker in the world so it's really, really hard to point out a definite marker...

So he probably thinks his fake Belstaff is a real deal. So do his customers if they give him a perfect rating. No harm no foul, lol.

His advertising is confusing. He does not display the jacket well, Looks much longer than it is. Doesn't do much of a sales job. Also a style I have never seen. A light lined jacket with a beautiful fur collar is different. I don't have any doubt is a California Sportswear jacket. I have two of their jackets that are like new, so they do exist.

I think it's the real deal, too. Far too many period correct details for a jacket someone just wanted to make quick money off.

42 watches I have no idea where the bid ends with this one. I have been waiting for it to be highlighted here but I wasn't willing to do it. quilty as charged

Seller does a good job of advertising the sale/auction through social media. If I win the lotto tomorrow, I will win the jacket. If not, I imagine I will fall out rather early.

The seller is dinnerman who use to post here. He now travels the country sourcing vintage clothing and selling.

He is a wealth of information on all things leather. He joined with Dave Himel on an early leather jacket blog. He has turned over some impressive jackets. I don't know that he blogs or otherwise interacts on the net. An interesting guy.

The question I ask myself is would I rather get this Star Glove or custom made jacket by Himel my preferred jacket maker and the answer is this Star Glove. I doubt we'll see another Star Glove this condition in the near future and Himel is not going anyplace soon. So I showed my hand as far as the minimum value I give to this jacket.

Well there you go, I might as well tap out now. And I agree with your thinking.
