I concur!
+ 1!

Soooo nice! Even those jaded folks used to nice vintage hats in small sizes are going to perk up.
Consider me perked;)

this belonged to
Col Lloyd W Thacker
HeadQuarters Air Material Command
Wright-Patterson AFB
Ohio, USA

It’s a dense but malleable easy to shape felt 2.75” brim. No size markings or labels but in very good shape, supple sweat. Under the transparent tip liner in gold block letters ..
G.A. DUNN & Co

Pretty cool to find one with a little history with it
That is a nice find. An earlier one as well; G.A. Dunn&Co changed its name into Dunn&Co I believe shortly after WWII.

Well, my resolve to not buy any more hats vaporised when I found out some new hats had made their way into the vintage shops recently. I could contain myself, but it was close.

Borsalino Export Qualität in nero in a size 56. Raw edge brim with three rows of decorative stitching at a hair short of 6cm and crown 10,5cm at the pinch. Nice shark gill bow though. Label shows it's from 1981. It's not going to stay (in fact it's already up for auction).

This is a brand that doesn't show up much, which is why I bought it even though it's another black homburg (and a bit roomy for me).
Vanzina Extra in black. Qualitá Extra according to the liner and sweatband, but label says "nadir" as the quality. Great hand to the felt and shapes easily. Brim sits at a good 5,5cm and the crown is quite tall at a good 11,5 cm at the center dent.

While I was shopping I found this one as well. I have a ton of hats in this colour scheme, so I don't need another, but...
Kohlndorfer homburg in grey. Size 56 with the brim at 6cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Liner is sewn in and the label is mostly handwritten, but there's a plastic covering of the crown patch. So probably mid to late fifties for this one. The felt is great and has lovely hand, which is part of the reason why I bought it anyway.
Kohlndorfer Velour Hutfabrik Miesbach / Oberbayren was the factory that made it. Steve @mayserwegener's site has some information on the company, but not a whole not is known about them.
Appears to be all original.

Before I sign off from the Lounge I would like to see this one go to the “right” home. It measures out as a size 7. Its hard for me to get good photos of a black hat. It’s in remarkably great condition for its age, the liner is very impressive, unreeded sweat still pliable but missing a few stitches. Only bad is the brim binding has deteriorated. The newspapers behind the sweat are 1937 and 41 British and I’ll include them. Didn’t cost me much and I don’t want anything for it. Just want to pass it on to the right person. Send me a message if you’d like it.

The planets have aligned or we are in the Covid Twilight Zone or something else very strange is happening! I'm so EXCITED I can't stand it! Good things really do come to those who wait...and wait...and wait...and persevere!!! Brent @deadlyhandsome finally gets a vintage Derby and I finally get ................yes......................wait for it................... a 7XCB!!!! WooooHoooo! [And the price was amazing, too. Another WooooHoooo.]

This one has the same luscious feel as others I have handled in the past, but now this one is mine! More in the 7XCB thread tomorrow. Not a blemish on the felt or liner. The text on the sweatband is crystal clear and it is pretty obvious this one has seen very little head time...until today!!!

A huge THANK YOU to Randall @Randall Renshaw who has become one of the primary enablers here on the Lounge!
