As others have already said ... I think the length of the jacket is good, but it is too wide for my taste. But it's not that it looks bad now. If you feel good, perfect. Otherwise I would have waist and hip tapered.

Thanks. I think I will probably end-up going down this route. I'm going to contact S-B to see what they say and are willing to do.

I also did that with my field leathers because the possible tolerance was used upwards and that was too wide for me at the waistband. I don't see why SB shouldn't do that. I wish you success.

Another warm day, another Brooks. This one’s also in the classifieds but I’m kind of thinking I should keep it.

Sorry if this is photo overload, wasn’t sure on the etiquette of posting here versus starting a new thread.

First decent pics of my new Simmons-Bilt semi-custom double rider in Horween Milan horse hide. The leather is just superb - it’s a beautiful rich brown that is soft and pliable in a perfect mid-weight. I’m no expert, but construction and details all seem excellent.

It’s a semi-custom fit, based on a size 38 with my supplied sleeve and body measurements. The shoulders are perfect and the sleeves feel just right (though they look a bit long in these photos).

Now, hard to admit, but my heart did sink a little when I pulled it out of the box Monday and slipped it on. The body just seemed too roomy and boxy. Perhaps as a result, it also looked a bit short (definitely doesn’t help that these jeans sit pretty low). I checked the length against other jackets I have that are good and it is the same, so I’m thinking it just looked short because it was roomy and flaring up. I cinched up the side adjusters and that made a world of difference- the waist is perfectly snug and the chest still has room to easily move around. The cinching gathers a lot of material and may not look as good, but it got me to the fit I was looking for.

Really looking forward to hear what you all think about the fit!

Looks good from here. How does it fit with the heaviest layer you would wear under it? Can always take in the body but then that may be trim and shoulders, chest, sleeves look too loose for the given trimmer body. Depends what ya want

A coolish start to casual Friday, so wearing a vintage work jacket from 1947. I got this off the 'bay 3 or 4 years ago, I was keeping my eye out for one for a while in my size and this one has the action pleat and halfbelt back I was after. Excellent condition. No maker's tag but there is a tag inside the collar that reads "Lined in Earl-Glo" which is, I take it, rayon.

Thats a near perfect leather and I'm getting a tailgunner in it soonish, dont worry about the fit so much, it will drape better as it breaks in, you will lose a surprising amount on the sleeves and it will feel and look very different with a few months of wear. Its all well and good going the super fitted route but its only really comfortable unzipped and/or standing up, I find on aircraft and trains it is totally impractical and a little room with a better drape from breaking is optimal.

I LOVE that! Been after a gaberdine Halfbelt myself for awhile. I’ve seen a few on Etsy but always really small sizes. Nice man!

Trade you straight up for my too big 42/44 Langlitz in the classifieds :)

The Cal’s measurements are nearly identical to the Crescent (bad *** jacket btw). I don’t think it will work for you. After many Cals and a handful of Langlitz, I am 100 percent a Cal guy. You’ve gotta jump on that train bud.
