I only have one 50/50 western weight hat and I was shocked at how hard the felt is. It’s not firm or stiff, the felt is rock hard. I like the hat, but I wasn't expecting the felt to be as harsh as it is. The fewer surprises the better when ordering custom hats.
No doubt the hat is hard....slap on a chin strap and it might be OSHA approved.

Honestly, this sounds great. I love the over built feel.

Good morning. I wanted to post up some Gannon love.

It has been enjoyable to view and read the recent Gannon postings.

This morning I was sport'n my Gannon Playboy. This hat in blue mist beaver was inspired by the venerable Stetson Playboys. Truth my eyes have been taken by this combo after seeing Hurr.Jack's VS version of this hat. Yesterday I steamed a bit more curl in the back of the brim and sides. The hat coming out of the box, used for storage, had the brim falling with a reverse edge curl (sides and rear). Steam for the brim has set it. By set it I do mean that the brim can snap and that you can move the shape still with your fingers. A push and a squeeze as your fingers run on top and bottom of the brim edge is all that is needed to change the shape. The crown is still a work in progress. My hat whisperer skills have not yet discerned what crease the hat desires. I vary between a gentle diamond and a gentle "Arkansas teardrop."

The above hat has been worn in rain, snow, strong wind and many gentle occasions. I am truly pleased with this hat!

Cheers to Gannon folks, Eric -

I'm typically a darker hat color guy but that silvermist with charcoal is really sharp!

My thoughts exactly. Eric's @Short Balding Guy hats are always ones I want to copy for myself.

I was avoiding the delicious smells filling our house with the Thanksgiving foods being cooked and went for a stroll through the nearby woods. As a toast I wore the Gannon Wanderer in silvermist with charcoal trimmings.

I do not have a Gannon "Whippet" inspired hat. Yet!

Cheers fellows.

Happy Thanksgiving, Eric, and thank you. I hate to steal from others but your Mist and Charcoal may have to be my next copy cat hat!!!

Received my first Gannon yesterday. I have to say, this is the smoothest and softest to the feel, of any hat I’ve put my grubby hands on! It’s absolutely amazing. Some of the pics show it a bit lighter color, I think the last one may be closest. It is a dark brown 100% beaver, with the copper ribbon. Full 6 inch crown and a 3 and 3/4 inch brim with slight curl on the edge. Not sure what, if any, crease I will put in it. I have several ideas but admit I like the look of this one open crown.

That’s a a beauty of a hat. I think I’m more than halfway through my wait. I’m not gonna start holding my breath just yet but I’m getting antsy. Wear it in good health!
