Remember how I’ve griped about how our suburban district has become a gathering spot for street racers? And how I’ve reported the resulting fatalities and injuries and property damage? A few weeks back neighbors a block and a half away had their fence taken out. And now the streetlight four houses down had fallen victim.

Last night, tried explaining Constitutional Law to a medicine woman of decided liberal persuasion,
first thrice articles and erroneous supposed legal historic precedent, latitudinal scope of amendment privilege,
restriction thereto, ex post facto, stare decisis, and felony murder doctrine bereft agency accuse; amidst
MSNBC coverage squeezed between cause and clause.

I seem to be the family prodigal Cubs fan. My sister growled at me until Rachel Madow came on.

Weather forecast spells SNOW :eek:throughout the Midwest. :(
Cannot complain since other parts of the country are routinely clobbered, year-in-out.

Speak for yourself. I can complain plenty. The two big storms we had thus far have dumped 2 feet of snow on us each time!

Frankly, I've hated snow ever since I got my driver's license.

Chicago achieved her maiden snowfall this week. Lovely weather. I prefer a four season year anyway,
so snow is part and parcel. Of course, I just prefer not being clobbered.

Had a low-English '94 Jaguar XJS convertible with an India 6 engine, 15 miles per gallon British Petroleum
Silver unleaded milk, and that Cat thirsted so much I would break down and cry; throwing myself across
hood, moaning and groaning. But great in the powder slalom skiing. Cat loved winter.

I've lived in New England all but six months of my life, and the older I get the more I loathe snow. We've had hardly any this year, until this morning, and even that small enough is enough to cause me to spit harsh words out the back door. You read about people who drop dead of heart attacks shoveling out their driveway, and I suspect that I will one day join them -- if not from the physical stress, than from the suppressed rage.

I like snow ...when I know I won’t have to drive in it. It seems like it has been snowing here once a week since Christmas. But, this being Vienna, it’s a very pleasant snow... never more than an inch at a time and usually it’s gone within 48 hours. Very pretty when it’s falling and you are sitting indoors with a favorite sweater and a hot cup of Earl Grey.

Classic white wintertime in old Germany. I never expected, that this would ever happen again. But of course, the longer temperature is floating around 0°C, the higher the chance for frozen rain.

We get snow to one extent or another just about every day. It's what happens in winter. While I like to complain about the sun going away in November and not returning until March, I've come to appreciate the gloomy skies, as clear skies, especially at night, means cold temps.

Ironically, I've also complained recently that it seems to have taken forever for the ground to freeze. Only recently was I able to get into the back yard to clean up from the first snow fall earlier in December without wading into a muddy mess of a lawn.

One of my cardiologists strongly advises her patients to either buy a self-propelled snowblower or hire out the work.

“Every winter we have patients fall over dead while shoveling snow,” she said.

We rarely see "real" (the kind we endured in Chicago) accumulation here in the greater Portland (OR) area, but we did get a dusting yesterday. The almost- daily rain washed it quickly away. I'd gripe.. but then, one doesn't have to shovel rain.

It's only because the baseball season hasn't started yet. Friggin' Red Sox.

Cubs traded Darvish and Lester to lighten payroll after a Covid-laced brief season; next, another busted flush.
Front office metric computer wielding clowns want Bryant gone. $$$
But the postman cometh round rain, shine, in-betweens.

Remember what Holmes said, "Lawyers shovel smoke.";)

And I Trust you are enjoying the hell outta Bork right now. :D
How many lawyers ever got christened a verb from noun? Answer: Robert Bork. Just one.
Kavanaugh remains a noun. He definitely got Borked though. No two ways.

I’ve been wondering how all of those New Yorkers who moved to Vermont last spring and summer are coping with their first New England winter. The weather gods are being kind to them.

Actually, ever since undergoing triple by-pass surgery 7+ years ago, it's something that crosses my mind. Fortunately, in Kansas I haven't had to shovel snow for about 5-6 years. The 2 inches we just got is the most snowfall we've had at one time in 5-6 years.

The sad thing for me is if I had a snow blower I'd have to get rid of my car so I could fit the snow blower in my garage. And then I wouldn't need a snow blower anymore.
