I think you can do 1" shorter than this without the jacket showing the belt, your CR is covering the front pocket of your jeans and reaching your rear pocket opening from what I see on the pic, so I think you can reduce 1" safely

I thought the same, I have tried it with some tape at the bottom and 1 inch looks about right. Hopefully, I'll see how far they are with the pattern and have a chat with Shawn about it.

yeah I think if you want a short jacket, then do a short jacket, don't go halfway. even if when paired with some lower rise pants or in some poses part of your belt showing so what, it is a short jacket. but then the hem circumference can be tapered more and more V than when making a longer jacket.

That's correct. Thank you for your feedback on this, I'll keep you posted :)

That's how the russet steer looks like after Shawn buffed/waxed the hide to a shine .I asked them to do that without making it look like latex.
I wonder how it will look like once finished and arrived at my doorstep .

I can do a little tutorial on aging and distressing goat/steer from 5*

Dang. If I didn't know any better I'd say this jacket was made by electric leather studio. It's perfect. I'm pretty nitpicky but I honestly can't name a single thing that could be improved, fit wise.

What happened to the color? I thought it'd be Burgundy?

Yeah me too! I don’t what kind of light they use there but it’s not cordo or maroon at all. It does have a bit of a taupe-ish hue but only indoors.

Is that steerhide squeaky? Like really squeaky? Just curious. My 5* steer is squeaky but the goathide is barely squeaky at all.
Nice jacket, as usual!

Got some pictures today from Shawn, a bit of misunderstanding on the side panel and pocket design but they will go back to the drawing board and come back when it's done. Excited about this but I want to make sure the pattern is good before they start doing anything else.

Great guy to work with as long as you specify everything as @MrProper said.
