James Dean Indian Ranger. I keep looking at this trying to convince myself that I could pull-off a 24” back if I wore equally vintage high wasted trousers.

I actually bought and returned this jacket a couple months ago - the pit-pit measures about 22 21.75 inches at the widest point. Way too big for me. I imagine they just measured the front panel seam to seam to come up with 20 inches.

Found the picture I took of the P-P. I didn't record other measurements, but I believe the measurements would be consistent with this Indian Ranger that was posted in the Classifieds a while back:

A bit of an unknown jacket. Size Medium. Seller said it’s made by a “non-famous maker”. Maybe it’s junk, maybe it’s a bargain. Advertised as horsehide and it looks pretty nice, particularly for such a low price. Too small for me but maybe it will be worth a shot for someone. $70 starting bid and seller accepting offers.

That's a chinese made Type I trucker. You can find them on AliExpress. Quality is OK, not comparable to high end jackets we normally talk about, but $70 is such a low price for something like that, you can't really go wrong with it. New they're normally around $250-300.

Apologies up front if the this is not the most appropriate place to post, but you are the folks I know on TFL and thought some might appreciate since it presents an opportunity to get a good deal for yourself or dad on Father's Day.

The Buffalo Billfold Company in Minnesota is offering free shipping and $5 off on any purchase over $50 using code mfw6t6pd. That means that you could get a handmade, bison wallet or belt for $55, including shipping.

They don't make vests or jackets, but make an amazing array of other stuff using US bison hides. Bill Keitel is a true craftsman who has been working leather for 50 years. I don't have any connection to him, just an impressed customer. To his credit, he has not raised his prices much over the years.

Walter Dyer made me think of the Massachusetts connection with leather, which reminded me of the New York connection across the border...so, thought this might interest some of you. I have some gloves made here.

Yet another example of a US industry that fizzled over time as things went overseas. It's a shame, because we could be seeing some awesome leather jackets coming out of this area today if not for the changes.
