Today I introduce you to the Borsalino range sold in Italy in the 60s and 70s.
None of the hats presented and made in Alessandria have a glued lining, they are all with a sewn lining, therefore they are still in the era of classic production. They are children of their time.
Noce Borsalino 4.jpg

Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 4 1/2 or 56 cm or 6 7/8 in the USA. The color of the felt, of medium-fine consistency and soft to be able to shape it with your hands, is "Noce-Walnut".
Noce Borsalino 5.jpg
The ribbon and the hem of the brims are in a slight contrast in color, compared to the felt. Classic with autumn colors.
Noce Borsalino 7.jpg

These are the measures: the edged brims are at 5 cm, the crown at its lowest point is at 10 cm. and the ribbon, of the same color as the one that borders the wings, is 3 centimeters.
Nocciola Borsalino 3.jpg

Borsalino Qualità Superiore size 5 or 57 centimeters in the USA becomes a 7. The color of the felt is not specified on the paper label. It is a color that I don't have in my collection. The felt is medium, consistent in the crown, less in the brims.
Nocciola Borsalino 4.jpg
Classic shape in those years with the elegant hem of the brims in contrast with the felt and even more the ribbon with the bow.
Nocciola Borsalino 6.jpg
These are the measures: Tense, edged, at 5 cm., Contrasting ribbon at 3 cm. and the crown at the lowest point is 10 cm.
Spaggiari Borsa 8.jpg

Sold in my city in Piazza Erbe, the ancient Roman forum is probably the oldest of the three.
Borsalino without denomination of quality, the size is 5 or 57 centimeters in the US it becomes a 7.
Spaggiari Borsa 5.jpg

The felt is soft and very malleable with an overall profiled shape. Color is one of the Borsalino grays and find out which one is a small business.
Spaggiari Borsa 2.jpg

Very classic it has the following measures: brims, sewn with two seams above 5.5 cm., the lowest point crown is 10 cm and the light contrasting ribbon is 3 cm.
They are all three for sale at very fair prices. You ask, I will answer :)

To be fair and give all possible information, here is the continuation of the presentation of the three Borsalinos
Noce Borsalino 2.jpg
Borsalino "Noce-Walnut" Qualità Extra Superiore was probably used,
Noce Borsalino interno totale.jpg
but from the lining and sweatband it seems to have made very few trips on someone's head
Nocciola Borsalino 7.jpg
Borsalino Qualità Superiore it is new,
Nocciola Borsalino interno totale.jpg

it comes from a warehouse stock
Spaggiari Borsa 1.jpg
Borsalino sold by "Spaggiari" in Verona it was used very little
Spaggiari Borsa interno totale.jpg

as you can see from the inside.
For the actual measurements of the interior ask and you will get the answers.

Signor Tanto, your latest group of Borsalinos made me sad that a) I live in America and can't shop where you shop, and b) that I don't have more money. But I'm glad we don't wear the same size in hats because I'd be tempted to sell a kidney and convince you to sell one of those beautiful hats to me. If I'm honest, I can't say I always like Borsalino hats, but there's something about this group that really caught my eye.

Love the shirt, nice background with the white kitchen units. What's not to like?
I agree. If the Ikea stores here sold shirts I'd be visiting one or more of them to find a shirt like the one you're wearing in your photos Pellie. Oh well, at least I now have an idea about what to look for the next time I go shopping for clothes.

I’m a sucker for a Stetson Playboy. This is my third and by far the best. The color is a beautiful deep gray and the felt is much softer than the other two—easy to put in a diamond crease with just your fingers. It is also in wonderful condition and my first with a lining. The 2 1/4 brim has a nice casual look though I still hope to find an older model with a wider brim. This one will get a lot of head time.

Egregio Signore, thank you for your kind words and don't waste a kidney on some Borsalinos that have a bargain price ;)
I am glad you appreciate this lot which are a "popular" production, if ever there was one, by Borsalino, as they are less expensive hats than other products in those years.
However, I invite you to save just enough to have one or more of your favorite hats now kept in a box in my office :)
Mille grazie

Third? I'm still hoping for my first. You wear them all well, sir.

Because i wasn't satisfied with my Hufvud Bogart, i asked Fleur of Penumbra hats to reblock my hat and so she did and this is what she send me on email. A new teardropstyle which i like already.Only the lining has to replace and it is finished. I am already satisfied with the result even when i didn't wear it on my head :)
