How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I knew you were going after this one. Glad you got it. If it would have been a little wider p2p there would’ve been one more bidder in the fray.

Im hoping for a bit more too. The seller never responded to my request for a photo. He also ignored an offer I shot his way. Glad he did. I do think it will be a bit larger than stated, based on all the other measurements and cross referencing them with my Fidelity. We shall see. If not, I’ll probably sell.

great score! love the belt design here, is there a difference with the red lining ones?

The post by the grandson of the founding Mr. Wolf is enlightening.

The wool lining likely precede the red or blue quilted nylon lining. The hide looks a bit different in pictures. Not sure if the hide changed or it’s just the pictures, or my eyes. At the end of their short run it was steer, like most everyone else I guess.

Yep. I was waiting for the sniper to take me out. After the auction closed it took a while to reset on my phone. The entire time I’m looking at a blank screen expecting $600 or more to pop up lol. Pleasant surprise.
That one shocked me too. Was expecting a much higher finish line. Funny how that works. I suspect if you were to wait a year and throw it back to auction you’d probably triple your investment.

USPS running morbidly slow. My vintage wool Halfbelt has been sitting in a Chicago distro center for a full three days. ‘Tis the season. Usually this time of year is the no fly zone for me buying anything that ships through the mail as the frustration sends my BP into overdrive.

I made out on this one. One of my favorite vintage jackets. Lots of bidders, and it didn’t really go anywhere. I was positive the price would blow right past me. Hoping for a wee bit more than the stated P2P though.

My baby is coming back! The 1940/1950s HH Spiegel has undergone extensive renovation and is coming back next week. It was relined and the main zipper was changed from a pretty sloppy YKK replacement to NOS fat Talon. The label was re-attached, couple of snaps exchanged, original interior pocket was retained. Cannot wait.

Makes sense that Fidelity, Wolf, Bogen & Sons, etc., made jackets for Indian.
You sir are catching Terry with your knowledge of vintage jacket makers contracting with the jacket retailers of the 40s and 50s
Edit As I have stated in prior threads, I would prefer a jacket with the maker's label over the retailer's label regards of market value.

I recently bought this jacket at full auction. $860 + tax + shipping.

If this jacket had been listed Buy it Now (BIN) for $860 I would not have bought it and I doubt anyone else would have. I would have hit BIN at $750, so to me the seller made about $100 more by auctioning this jacket.

This jacket below purchased by another member sells for $262 at full auction. It would have sold quickly with a BIN of $362 or more! So I calculate a loss of at least $100 for using the auction format on this jacket.

This Durable recently sold with a BIN of $380 or offer! This jacket at auction would have brought at least $300 more, probably a lot more.

Just saw this Hercules in the SOLD section. Sold BIN $700. I never saw the original listing. This is the iconic Sears Hercules made by Monarch. Pretty rough and very small. Not too sure this one would have bought $700 at auction, I would not have bid that.

I have at least 2 more sad examples of BIN priced jackets that I would have paid double or triple for.

No point, or it just got lost. I'm going back to ebay and do some mining.

Yes you did. I was involved elsewhere and one person can make a difference. I would not have gone as strong as you. You are the East Coast Man, you know your stuff. This Boston area is like the West Coast bay area when I frequent. edit: this was a difficult jacket for me to not bid on! It is the Top of Quality, just doesn't have a name.

I have a sharp focus on the wool/flannel lined jackets from the late 40s. They just have a vibe, even the redos look better in the wool lining. These were the first of the post-war MC jacket boom. They just have that transition look, from old school to new school.

The leather quality of this jacket is so dramatic, I mean, hard to miss. Were people just missing the label? I do like a label, but quality is hard to hide.

Anyway, went to the right person. Look forward to your rave!
