Another one from back in January. Bought from original owners daughter. Very sharp and lightweight felt Dobbs 7 1/8. I believe this is a 40’s roundrel for Dobbs. Like new condition, as perfect of a sweat as I’ve ever seen. 2 3/4” brim, 5” crown as bashed. Came with original box and a hat sponge still in wrapper. Also too small and headed to Reese’s Vintage Pieces. Very cool pug. Wish it fit. Thought about having Wolfbrae reblock to my size but it’s too pristine to molest.

Another from back in January and it’s also one I’ve not seen before Harvard Club size 7 1/2. This came from a hatters estate in Pennsylvania and was obviously in the midst of being worked on from the pins in the bow and sweat.
Very nice soft easily dry shaped felt. Haven’t tried to peek behind the unreeded sweat yet. 2 3/4” bound brim, 6” open crown. It’s a pretty dandy hat for sure.

Another January hat, Byer Rolnick. No fear whatsoever peeking behind this unreeded sweat, kinda hard not to.
Fair amount of mothing and a little dirty but the price was right and my size. I’m a Resistol, Byer Rolnick fan for sure.
Soft thin easily shaped felt. 2 3/4” triple stitched brim, 5 1/2” open crown.
Very similar in build to one of my Resistols.

One of my catches back in my January haul. Sunnington size 7. Way too small but couldn’t resist the cool art deco liner and color of this uncommon brand so made an offer.
Unreeded leather sweat, 2 5/8” brim and 4 1/2” crown as bashed. This is headed to Reese’s Vintage Pieces in trade towards a vintage Penneys Marathon Straw.

Very cool looking hat. Something about it reminds me of Dalton (the colour and look of the felt maybe?). They did make hats under other brand names, so it is possible. Perhaps Jim @Frunobulax knows, as our Dalton expert?

My wife has a hat with the imprint "by Dalton" on the sweat, but I think that's the only one I know of. If there was a re-order tag it might shed some light.

Thanks, Jim. I have that "courtney" branded hat that was amde by Dalton. This one. The styling seems similar to the one posted above.

I agree with you very similar in build and design, I think you’re right. I really wanted to see behind the sweat but even though it was in good condition it just wasn’t very flexible. Already had a couple of loose-popped stitches didn’t want to chance it. Seems like when there’s already a few popped it’s an easy domino effect.
And it’s already sent off to California, just wanted to post some pics before it went.

I'm having my doubts, though, about that hat. Dalton was located in Yonkers, not Philadelphia.

Only appropriate to post this particular one today. The Finchley Establishment fedora in If I remember correctly @steur favorite shade of green. I’ve only seen one reference so far and that was one by Dinerman here on the Lounge.
2 5/8” welted brim, 5 5/8” open crown.
Other than a few moth nips in the welt it’s in excellent condition. Very soft thin almost too easy to dry crease felt.

Let's stay in Germany.

Mertés de Luxe chamois/velour finish fedora. Overwelt brim at 6,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm at the center dent. Very nice hand to the felt, which sits somewhere between a longer haired chamois and a short haired velour. Couldn't find anymore information about Mertés, excepts that the full name was M. Mertés Hutfabrik and that there seems to be a connection with Mayser. Odd thing is that underneath the emblem the text "maison fondee en 1841" (in French therefore) can be found. Located in Alsace maybe, as that region switched nations more often than we do socks?
Even though the liner gives it away as a slightly more modern hat it is very well made. May have been refursbished at some point because it has two labels inside.
