II’ve come across Bronx jackets with the Stars and Stripes tag a few times, but I’ve never seen this particular tag before.

My son is nearly my height now and I’d love to pass some cool jackets and clothes down to him, but he lives in hoodies and sweatpants.

I bought my boy a leather and wool combo Aero jacket a couple years ago when they had their big blowout sale. I think he's worn it twice. It was still worth it because I got one for me as well, so it was an easier sell to my wife.

It does make me wonder, though, if he will show any interest when he get older because I would love to be able to pass something along to him.

Nothing actually new, but my Taylor's CMPD is finally on it's way back to me from having the patchwork done by Steve at Bedo's.
It basically summer here now and I won't get to wear it any time soon, but it has been very weird constantly looking into my closet and seeing it's special hanger empty.
I really can't wait to have it back.

Handwarmer pockets on a traditional CR are a no go for me, but I made an exception since function was more important than form considering the intended use. That being said, I still dig the overall style.

This is what happens when you have too many beers as you're sitting and "watching" the weekly Hallmark channel movie with the wife. So really, this is all her fault.

I made what I think is a good change to my groovy pioneer wear jacket. Removed the pocket flaps and the pocket bags, riveted the corners and sewed them shut. Seems to drape better.

I also relapsed and bought this beat up 50’s sport jack. I have no idea why.

I just purchased this Pherrows SJ88 in Horsehide from Frankstore in Shanghai.

I know nothing about this brand, but the staff at the store assured me they think it's better than Doublehelix or Finecreek (which they also stock).

Anyway, this jacket is slightly unusual in it's styling, also fairly long, but I find it attractive.

It was on sale for 50% off, so I thought I'll try something new. Anyone know anything about the brand and their jackets?

Pherrow’s is a well regarded JP brand for leather jackets. They have some cool designs for 30-40s aviator (MW40 model shown below) that other brands are not doing. I was looking to purchase one if one in my size showed up in the used market. (I still have a saved search on JP sites).

I think it’s fair to say anything well known JP is better than Fine Creek. Idk if I’d say Pherrow’s is better than Double Helix though. That was prob an overstatement that the sales person was trying to sell you something.

In any event, Pherrow’s at 50% off is a solid deal. Congrats!

This green 70’s blazer with axe lapels arrived and it’s actually friggn’ awesome. Leather is thick! Not the usual 70’s painted junk. I dig it!

Did you get the Studio D'Artisan jacket from the "The Rising" store on Yahoo Auctions? I saw they had many listings and some of their reviews noted that they got fake items and it seemed a little fishy to me with so many new items with stock photos, so I didn't bid on them.

Did you get the Studio D'Artisan jacket from the "The Rising" store on Yahoo Auctions? I saw they had many listings and some of their reviews noted that they got fake items and it seemed a little fishy to me with so many new items with stock photos, so I didn't bid on them.

I used Buyee for my proxy, which sort of hides the seller username, but opening up the original listing I see it was The Rising. Truth be told, I didn't even question the listing with a 99.6% feedback rating (+682/3-). The Yahoo Auction rating is similar at 99.4%, and the store is licensed with full clarity. That doesn't throw up any red flags, but maybe that's naivety on my part.

As for the jacket itself, it arrived new with tags. All measurements check out within 1cm of published size tables, so considering this came with one wash I would expect that to be well within tolerance. I tried to compare details to several other examples listed on store web sites, Grailed, and Reddit and I can't find any discrepancies. Even the rivets are branded SDA. I guess one could make the case that it's easier to copy and mass produce hardware, so maybe that isn't the best indicator. That being said, I kind of find it hard to believe that it would be worth making a knockoff Jacquard weave Type II. Maybe if it was a more mainstream model, but not this sashiko version.

For what it's worth I have two other items from SDA, their Rain Kasuri Type I and the matching pants. The labels look and feel identical, and the location is the same in both jackets. I will concede that this would probably be easier to reproduce and incorporate on a fake item, so maybe it's not a valid data point.

If there's any detailed photographs you would like I'd be happy to provide if it may help you decide. I'll be the first one to admit that I'm not as knowledgeable as many people here.

SDA is a niche brand. Their resale value on JP sites isn’t that great. Fake stuff targets popular brands like Lacoste, Polo, etc. for high-volume sales. I’m willing to bet that your jacket is not fake.

Those who doubt niche brands as fake are usually too paranoid. Economics don’t support their theory.
